Unlike anywhere else, the best red wines in Italy are not just 1, but 20. This is not an exaggeration, but because Italy has 20 provinces, each with its own main red wine, and they are arguably the best. However, there are only two models that can really be called the "King of Italian Wine": Barolo and Brunello.
Born in central Italy, Brunello is a Tuscan star, made from large grains of Sangiovese pure wine, a red wine with moderate tannins and suitable for aging. Excellent grape varieties
Brunello is made from 100% pure saccharomy of large grains, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, two of the most famous grape varieties in Italy. Sangiovese is the most widely grown variety in Italy, with more than 10% of the total Italian grape area, and the variety is cultivated throughout Italy.
Brunello's Sangiovese is more special, it is different from the general Sangiovese, it is a large grain Sangiovese grown in Montalcino, is the only legal grape variety for Brunello dry red wine, and the wine flavor it produces is also different.
Excellent geographical advantage
Brunello's appellation, Montalcino, is only a 45-minute drive from the Mediterranean Sea, at an altitude of around 1,000 feet. Warm, sunny days alternate with cool nights, and the rhythms of nature ripen the grapes slowly and smoothly. In excellent vintages, refreshing acidity and juicy fruit flavors are perfectly balanced.
Sangiovese is the most well-known wine grape variety in Tuscany, and Montalcino offers the soil and water that is best suited for the growth of Sangiovese grapes. The warmer, drier climate combined with the complex soils of Montalcino's well-drained mountainside vineyards give diligent growers unrivalled fruit of quality.
