Founded in 2003, Barcelona-based game developer Novarama recently announced that Tencent has acquired a portion of its shares. Tencent did not disclose the details of the investment, but confirmed that the company did "take a stake" in Novarama.

Novarama has worked with Sony for many years to create the Invizimals series for PSP, PS Vita and PS3 platforms, and has developed a total of 6 games in the series. In July 2019, the studio released Killsquad, a co-op action RPG with a top-down view that combines twin-stick shooting with slash elements, on the Steam Store.

"As Newton said, to see farther, we have to climb on the shoulders of giants." Dani Sanchez-Crespo, CEO of Novarama, said, "By partnering with Tencent, a global leader in online game development, we will have the opportunity to explore a world full of endless possibilities. Today is a great day for us and for the entire Spanish gaming industry. ”
