Recall opens in May! If the Volkswagen Tuon harness may be faulty, the airbag will be delayed in ejection

Recently, Volkswagen will recall 220,000+ Volkswagen Atlas models in the US market, which can be regarded as the "American version of Volkswagen Tuon". According to the recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the main reason for this recall is that due to the small movement of the wiring harness inside the A-pillar to the front door, it may cause wear on the surface of the wire, which may lead to the interruption of the connection to the electronic components of the front door assembly, and if a side collision occurs, the side airbags may be delayed in popping up, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants in the car.

Volkswagen said that if the vehicle detects a fault, the airbag warning light may be lit, and the owner can find the problem in time. In addition, wiring harness failures can lead to other fault problems, such as automatic window drops when driving, automatic braking sudden activation at low speeds, and door sensor fault warnings. Volkswagen said that the owners of the affected vehicles will be notified of the recall on May 10, and after the vehicles are moved to the dealership, the dealer will repair the vehicle for free and replace the corresponding components if necessary.
