Last holiday in New York, I learned about new paintings that are popular in the United States. Today's new painting exploration captures the idea of "reality I am aware of--- any reality exists through awareness. That's why there's "Inception."

Zhu Peihong's large acrylic work "My Space" is very attractive to the unknown "shape". This stemmed from his experience of going to the ancient city of Pingyao in Xi'an to sketch. At first, he painted the city with his friends, and half of the painting felt too traditional and uninteresting, and then he felt that it was better to delete all the figurative objects and only keep his feelings about the various lights in the city. He thought about it a lot, but there weren't too many traces. Perhaps because any known idea is not good enough to correspond to his message, "he strongly rejects the painstaking management of any idea"; perhaps he is young and has not yet learned how to find a "statement".

Zhu Peihong grew up in Shanghai, he does not shy away from the influence of urban life experience on creation, but maintains a light-packed mentality, transforms the visual memory he obtains from the city into an image-like picture intuition, forms a simple and colorful image space, and leaves room for the audience's interpretation and acceptance while releasing personal emotions.

Zhu Peihong said to himself

——Written in Beijing in 2017

I am an abstract painting artist, and My Space is my representative work. In my opinion, abstract painting is a free thing, it does not need to confirm the form or form, it is independent and complete in visual expression. Abstract painting is almost done in a subconscious process of behavior, so I demand that I must not be set when creating. This concept determines my sensitivity to color, brushstrokes, and production in the process of painting. This spontaneous act of painting, full of instability and subtlety, makes me constantly innovate when creating.

In my work, the most enduring reflection is the focus on urban traces and colors, which is closely related to my own urban life. The "shapes" and seemingly beautiful "colors" of unknown origin in the "My Space" screen form an absurd and strange combination of space. When the work is finally completed, these combined spaces produce a rich visual sensory experience with the outside world. I once wrote, "The city is full of neon lights, traffic, buildings, stock information, all kinds of displays, and billboards everywhere." The visual impact on us made me reflect on the state of people's lives at the moment. The result of the creation is no longer the focus,....... The meaning of the work can only be based on the process, and the change is subordinated to the change of personal experience. ”

Zhu Peihong, "My Space 2016-11"

My Space has a state in which I express "the reality I am aware of." Any reality exists through consciousness, i.e. painting makes the invisible part visible, not the visible part reproducible. When I paint, I lay my work flat on a table, like a Chinese painting instead of an oil painting. Different pigments will wait on the canvas to solidify, and the drawing will be repeated for a long time until it is complete. The infinite extension of the time of painting blurs the boundary between the beginning and the end of creation. The experience of this painting is very subtle, producing a picture effect that is different from other works. In recent years, after several changes and advancements, I have broken the spatial relationship of painting and broken through the limitations of the two-dimensional canvas for painting. Readymade products, spilled paint, and strong brushstrokes form a living space.

I think "My Space" is both a form of language and the temperament of my life. It is the "color space" that I have constructed, "while releasing personal emotions, it also leaves room for the audience's interpretation." When visual 'pleasure' comes into play, the distance between the work and the viewer is greatly reduced. ”
