BYD Co., Ltd. recently released the latest financial report shows that in 2021 to achieve revenue of 216.142 billion yuan, up 38.02% year-on-year; specific to automobiles, automotive-related products and other products, in 2021 to achieve revenue of 112.489 billion yuan, up 52.04% year-on-year.
The net profit attributable to the shareholders of the listed company was 3.045 billion yuan, down 28.08% year-on-year, while the net profit attributable to the shareholders of the listed company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 1.255 billion yuan, down 57.53% year-on-year.
In addition, the net cash flow generated by operating activities in the previous year was 65.467 billion yuan, an increase of 44.22% year-on-year. As of December 31, 2021, the balance of cash and cash equivalents was $49,820 million.
Last year, BYD's auto sales reached 721,300 units, up 82.8% year-on-year; the new energy vehicle sector soared 231.6% year-on-year to 593,700 units.
For the contrast between the sharp increase in revenue and sales and the decline in profits, BYD did not mention the reasons in the annual report. However, in last year's semi-annual report, it was pointed out that due to the increase in raw material prices, profitability will be affected.
From the perspective of various expenditures, R&D expenses reached 7.99 billion yuan, up 7.05% year-on-year; sales expenses and management expenses rose sharply, reaching 6.082 billion yuan and 5.710 billion yuan, respectively, WHICH BYD explained that this was caused by the increase in employee salaries and after-sales service expenses.
In 2021, the number of BYD employees soared to 288,200; in 2020, this figure was 224,300. The net increase was 63,900, of which the production staff increased by 68,200.
