The largest reading room is located at the "top of the mountain" of Shushan Mountain, more than ten meters from the ground, the 24-hour reading space meets the needs of the public to read at night, and the characteristic resources such as ancient books, local documents, intangible cultural heritage documents, and vinyl records will show their value and be used by readers in a richer and three-dimensional way... The library of the urban sub-center, which is under intense construction, has a unique ingenuity, and the reporter's on-site visit found that the library has basically completed the secondary structure construction, and the city's living room and the citizens' study room have begun to take shape.
At the beginning of the design, the urban sub-center library was determined to become a cultural complex integrating knowledge dissemination, urban think tanks, learning and sharing. With a floor area of about 75,000 square meters, its ample space resources provide an excellent opportunity to display featured resources. Adhering to the functional design concept of "close to the people, characteristics and wisdom", the library operator, the Capital Library, will set up a series of special (collection) theme libraries here, and send special resources such as intangible cultural heritage, ancient books, art documents, and children's literature to readers through display, experience, interaction and other means.
As an urban living room, it has a transparent, elegant space. Stepping into the construction site, a column shaped like a ginkgo tree can be seen towering into the roof in the hall on the first floor. Standing in the huge "living room" with a height of 22 meters, you can see the light and shadow of the roof composed of ginkgo biloba leaves. Under the ginkgo tree, the two "book mountains" in the east and west are towering, although the mountain has not yet been decorated, but the sunlight passes through the leaves, leaving a mottled light and shadow on the "book mountain", which can imagine the elegant rhyme of the future "forest book garden".
Gu Shiyun "The book mountain has a road and a diligent path", and the entire library has a total of about 2400 reading seats, about half of which are distributed on these two "mountains". Along the way, Chinese books, Chinese newspapers and periodicals, foreign language books, and local literature in Beijing will be set up along the way. The reading seats are set up on the steps, and the reader can sit and go with them, which highlights the freehand beauty of "facing the mountain, under the tree, and reading frequently". The largest reading space in the museum is located on the "top of the mountain" of two mountain structures. It is not an enclosed space surrounded by four walls like the traditional reading room, and people can enjoy a comfortable mood when they sit in an open space more than ten meters above the ground, overlooking or overlooking from a railing.
The Sub-Center Library has also opened up a new reading space on the first floor for readers to provide 24-hour services. Here can provide full-time to the library reading, literature circulation, literature reservation, cultural exchanges, book cultural and creative sales, catering and rest and other services. Located in the south of the west side of the first floor, the children's children's museum will serve young readers aged 0 to 12. Different from the traditional children's reading services, after the opening of the museum, more attention will be paid to providing intelligent services with a sense of participation, science and technology, art and futurism, and will focus on children's reading services that combine with exhibition and experience.
The second floor of the museum is a number of theme museums with their own characteristics, among which, the art archives rely on the first picture collection resources, highlight the audio-visual characteristics, have various art forms, set up literature collection, exhibition display, art experience, art creation, salon activities, aesthetic education popularization in one, and also set up a musical instrument experience, art painting and professional-level audio and video appreciation space. The interesting and special Beijing Sound Museum will also present the precious audio documents collected by the first map to the public. Located on the same floor, the Ancient Books Museum, with the purpose of protecting precious documents, displaying classic culture and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, is a comprehensive space integrating classic collection, display, research, protection, public education, cultural inheritance, and cultural leisure, and the ancient book restoration and experience hall will be set up here.
Wisdom is a prominent feature of the city's sub-center library. Go to the basement floor, you can see the wisdom library that is more than ten meters high and covers an area of 3,000 square meters. The Smart Library combines high-density storage shelves with an automated access system to store 6.5 million books. In the future, after readers apply in the library, books can be delivered to the reading room where readers are located in an average of 5 to 15 minutes. In addition, smart library services will also comprehensively use new technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing and big data (5ABCD) to integrate literature, libraries and readers to create a scene of intelligent services, presenting a library that understands the minds of readers.
