To say which transmission, is the most familiar to people, it is certainly not the MT transmission, if it is a C1 driver's license, then from the driving school to learn to drive we have contacted the manual gear, although the back of the car may be automatic, but the manual gear is definitely a gearbox that the public understands and manipulates.
MT transmission, commonly known as manual transmission, is a transmission that the driver must manually actively dial the transmission lever in order to change the transmission ratio. The manual transmission is mainly composed of housing, transmission mechanism (input and output shaft, gear, synchronizer, etc.), and control components (gear shift tie rod, fork, etc.).
As shown in the figure above, this is a 2-speed MT transmission simple diagram, the shifting process is to move the gear lever, the joystick will be fitted to the corresponding gear gear, the synchronizer and the gear on the power output shaft are connected, the engine power is connected by the input shaft through the gear rotation and transmitted to the output shaft, through the combination of different sizes of gears combined with the power output shaft, thereby changing the torque and speed of the drive wheel and finally transmitted to the drive wheel.
In the process of shifting gears, the most important thing is the joining work of the synchronizer, because the two different speed gear joints are easy to produce impact and wear between the teeth, so the synchronizer also has a role to avoid the impact between the gears. The synchronizer consists of a joint sleeve and a synchronous cord ring, which completes the synchronous bonding process under the action of frictional resistance.
And like the 5-speed manual transmission we use, there are 5 kinds of gears of different sizes and 3 synchronizers, the synchronizer is distributed between the two output shaft gears, the same gear on the input shaft and the joint output shaft gear both determine the transmission ratio, the large gear belt pinion is the speed of high torque is small, the small gear with the big gear is the speed of low torque, so how does the car do backwards? It's as simple as installing a reverse rotating gear.
In the development of the automotive industry, the MT gearbox is the first to be widely used, and it is still used today, indicating that its technology and very stable can be reached, but as people are more and more demanding of the car, the performance and convenience make the manual gearbox gradually replaced by the automatic transmission, but this does not represent the STAGE of the MT manual gearbox to withdraw from the era.
Is it through the explanation that the MT speed is easy to understand? Yes, the MT gearbox structure is also the simplest of several gearboxes, the benefit of simplicity is that the production difficulty is low, the price cost is also low, and the post-maintenance cost is also much cheaper, the price is low, which is the only outstanding advantage of the MT gearbox.
The mechanical response of the MT gearbox is synchronous, because it is manually operated, as long as the driver changes gears quickly, then the gear change process is fast,
It can also perform high rotation in low gear, and the overtaking time will be very fast. But it is also because of manual reasons, the need for drivers not only need to carry out frequent gear change operations, but also need to match the engine speed to change to the adaptable gear position is not easy to drag and turn off, compared to the trouble-free automatic gear, the MT gearbox is indeed a bit "annoying".
If you don't hate the MT trouble, but for the riders who are tireless in changing gears, which MT is the best? In fact, the joint venture models on the market models, the gearbox is similar, but the best is undoubtedly Volkswagen's MQ200 and MQ250 gearbox, in the Langyi, Passat, Jetta and other low-end models are equipped with Volkswagen's MT gearbox, Volkswagen's manual transmission response is clear, the gear shift is very light, but this is also inseparable from the excellent tuning of German models. Because the manual transmission structure of major manufacturers is the same, the difference can only be shown from the accuracy of components and workmanship, but the difference in effect is not large.
MT gearbox has been gradually replaced by AUTOMATIC transmissions such as AT and CVT, because the current consumer pursuit is convenient and easy driving, and now with the development of automotive intelligence, drivers are gradually detached from the task of driving, not to mention the MT gearbox? But the MT transmission will not be eliminated, because there are some niche people who pursue the most primitive acceleration feeling and operating passion, which may only be seen in some race models in the future, because only that kind of race needs to test the driver's operating skills.
