Recently, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato revealed in an interview with a Dutch media that Alfa Romeo plans to launch a higher-level, larger model, and competitors will lock in the BMW X5, X6 and 7 Series, and hinted that the above models will be launched by 2027.
At present, Alfa Romeo has only three models, the Tonale (not listed) positioned as a compact SUV, the Giulia positioned as a mid-size sedan, and the Stelvio with a medium-sizeD SUV. According to the product plan previously announced by Alfa Romeo, the brand will add 5 new models by 2026, after Jean-Philippe Imparato revealed that it will also launch a small SUV model positioned lower than tonale.
Combined with the future strategy previously released by Stellantis Group, several models of the X5/X6 and 7 Series in Alfa Romeo's plan will likely share the new STLA Large platform developed by the Group for medium and large cars with Maserati's new generation Levante and the new generation President Group (the STLA Large platform can accommodate models with a body length of 4.7-5.4 meters and a width of 1.9-2.3 meters). In addition, Stellantis has previously announced that it will achieve 100% electrification of models sold in Europe by 2030, so it can also be expected that Alfa Romeo's medium-sized and large vehicles will at least be electrified.
