Car East March 26 news, today, the 8th China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum continues.

With the theme of "Welcoming a New Stage of Market-oriented Development of New Energy Vehicles", the relevant government departments and representatives of industry institutions and leading enterprises in the fields of automobiles, energy, transportation, cities, and communications discussed the key and hot issues of the current industry.

At this forum, Che Dongxi and other media also interviewed Rong Li, general manager of Zhijia Technology China, and Rong Li expressed his views on the recent supervision of the field of automatic driving and the technical development plan of Zhijia.

1. Do not worry about regulatory issues, the R & D team of the Chinese and American markets is independent

In the recent industry hot discussion on the issue of autonomous driving supervision, Rong Li said that supervision is basically not a problem for Zhijia Technology, Which has independent business in China and the United States, and the data of the two teams is also independent.

Taking the Chinese market as an example, in 2018, Zhijia Technology reached a cooperation with FAW Jiefang and Manbang Group to focus on the domestic trunk logistics market.

The J7 Super Truck, a front-loading mass-produced self-driving heavy-duty truck jointly built by Zhijia Technology and Zhitu Technology (a joint venture between Zhijia and FAW Jiefang), will be mass-produced and launched in 2021.

Rongli said that in the development and production of J7, all the data did not involve the US branch. Zhijia has an independent team in China. Zhijia found very early on that the situation in the United States and the Chinese market is different in many aspects, such as the specifications of trucks and the configuration of sensors, so from the beginning strictly adhered to the (data) regulations.

In the U.S. market, Zhijia Technology has also made important progress, receiving an order for 1,000 autonomous driving systems from Amazon. It is reported that the PlusDrive system delivered by Zhijia Technology to Amazon is equipped with NVIDIA's autopilot chip.

2. This year and next year, we will realize automatic driving from highway toll stations to toll stations

In terms of autonomous driving technology, Zhijia Technology will complete the automatic driving of highway toll stations to toll stations from this year to next year.

"(Zhijia) wants to solve not only the ability to drive autonomously on the highway trunk line, but also the non-trunk line of the highway, such as switching on the highway, going up and down the ramp, etc." Demonstrations of these aspects can be done very early, but we require product cars that can run in all the conversion places of the country's 150,000 highways, and at the same time have full functionality. This is what we have to do in the past two years, improve the performance of the sensor, use a chip with greater computing power, and improve our algorithm. Rong Li said.

After achieving automatic driving after the toll booth, Zhijia Technology will realize warehouse-to-warehouse automatic driving in the next step.

3. Autonomous driving heavy trucks reduce costs and increase efficiency for the logistics industry

Heavy-duty trucks are the entry point for trunk logistics to reduce costs and increase efficiency, and the current number of heavy trucks in China is about 7 million. Although the number of heavy trucks cannot be compared with the number of passenger cars, if heavy trucks can be made to reduce costs and increase efficiency, it will have a huge impact on the entire logistics industry, especially at the economic level.

"Trucks pay much more oil than passenger cars, all express delivery, all means of production transport, all production raw materials transport, the vast majority of the use of road logistics, and trunk logistics in China's total road logistics accounted for more than 60%." Rong Li said.

The advantages of autonomous driving heavy trucks have three points: the first is fuel saving, J7 heavy truck jointly developed by Zhijia Technology and Zhitu can achieve more than 10% improvement in fuel efficiency through automatic driving function, significantly reducing carbon emissions; the second point is that through the automatic driving function, the truck is labor-saving, which can save labor costs; the third is safety, in the actual operation data, it can be seen that the automatic driving heavy truck with safety officers has a lower accident rate than the heavy truck accident rate of manual driving.
