At present, Geke Micro Co., Ltd. "12-inch CIS integrated circuit characteristic process research and development and industrialization project" is advancing rapidly. The construction of the plant and clean workshop has been basically completed, and the installation of the main equipment began on February 16, 2022. On March 24th, GECO Semiconductor once again ushered in the important landmark moment of factory construction, and the most critical equipment in the entire production line, ASML advanced ArF lithography machine, was successfully moved in.

The successful introduction of ArF lithography machine is a key node in the construction of Geke Micro's "12-inch CIS integrated circuit characteristic process research and development and industrialization project". Relying on the advanced process of its own factory, geko semiconductor, Geke Micro will further accelerate the research and development speed of advanced CIS technology and high-end patented pixels, and achieve mass production verification in its own factory, thereby greatly shortening the cycle of high-end products from research and development to a large supply market.

According to the data, in March 2020, Geke Micro signed a cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of Lingang New Area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, and intends to invest in the construction of "12-inch CIS integrated circuit characteristic process research and development and industrialization project" in the new area. The total investment in the project is expected to reach US$2.2 billion and has been launched in mid-2020. On August 16, 2021, the special process research and development and industrialization project of Geke Micro 12-inch CIS integrated circuit was officially capped, and the first phase of the project is planned to be put into operation in 2022, with an annual production capacity of 720,000 pieces after full production.
