"Moss" grows on the eyelids and spreads to the whole body, and the crumbs begin to fall off with a light squeeze

My skin has caused me a lot of sin. Allergies, eczema, dermatitis... I have experienced these common skin diseases.

But I never expected that this time, "moss" would grow on my eyelids.

After staying up late, small papules came to the door

After work, I often stayed up late, did not have the heart to skin care, often washed my face with water and went to sleep, and my face gradually changed: in addition to the thickening of the horn and dry skin, some softer pimples began to appear. With the arrival of winter, the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor has become larger, and under the cold and hot, there are more pimples.

The graininess of the face thus becomes apparent, bringing you closer to the uneven surface of the skin. But that's okay. In addition to the pimples on my face, my eyelids became particularly dry, and there were even some reddish papules on them.

Papules are as large as fingernails, light in color, and somewhat itchy to the touch, but not severe. However, when you apply skin care products, you will feel a little tingling.

I went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said that the pimples on the face could be eczema attacks, and the redness and swelling on the eyelids could be caused by unclean, mites at home.

I changed the sheets, cleaned the house, and took medicine. The effect of the ointment on the face was immediate, and after only a few days, the pimples of skin seemed to be smoothed out, smooth to the touch, and looked a little shiny.

However, the papules on the eyelids not only did not subside, but became more serious.

It spreads out toward the corners of the eye, with a total area the size of half a thumb fingernail, and is noticeably darker and darker, closer to brownish red. This piece of skin is harder and rougher than other places, and the thick skin floats up and crumpled to the touch.

The eyelids grew "moss" and tickled me to death

Soon I was in the busiest phase of my job, staying up late even harder.

In those two months, I was under a lot of pressure, worried and anxious about the work of not being able to write a plan and not being able to satisfy Party A. I spent more than ten hours a day facing the computer, basically going home at two or three o'clock in the morning, and often couldn't eat. Physically and mentally exhausted, I was in a poor state.

Exhausted, I didn't have the heart to pay attention to the condition of my skin, and every day I woke up to brush my teeth, wash my face, and carry my bag to the company.

But while I was at work that day, I felt my eyelids itch very much. Subconsciously touching it, the skin was actually hard to the point of crust.

The hard shell was like the thick shell left by frostbite after a long time, but the feel was more skinny and coarse, and the brownish red had turned dark brown. After the initial papules have thickened, they have melted into one piece and look like "moss".

With a flick of the fingernail, the scales attached to the "moss" fell off, and the peeling was very serious. I tried to moisturize the soft skin with lotion, but the dry and hard skin was completely unable to absorb it.

What is this thing, I can't do it. But before I could take time off, I found that the "moss" on my eyelids had spread to my neck and waist, and my whole body began to itch!

It became painful during the day. Probably because the office temperature is high and it is relatively hot, I itch badly. I didn't want to scratch it either, but I couldn't help it, and I wouldn't stop scratching it.

This itching sensation is especially intense at night when sleeping. I couldn't scratch my back, so I kept rubbing against the bed. Just about to fall asleep, the eyelids and neck are like a discussion, itch here, itch there. One night, I had to toss and turn until I was exhausted to fall asleep.

I fell into a vicious circle: the more itchY I scratched, the more I scratched, the more itchy I got. I didn't dare to scratch my eyelids, so I scratched my neck, and as a result, the skin on my neck became thicker.

My whole person was tossed around, and my heart was always "suspicious", thinking about where my face would itch again in the next second, and I couldn't concentrate on thinking at all. But the misfortune is not alone, at this time, I am allergic again.

A disease that can easily be triggered by high stress

I quickly took a leave of absence and came to the dermatology department.

The doctor first gave me a 15-minute cold spray of pure water to calm the skin for the allergy. The spray is sprinkled down, and the whole face is instantly "calm". Then the doctor put on a mask for me, saying it was humanoid collagen to relieve the redness and tingling sensation.

But I'm more nervous about the eyelid situation. After the doctor saw it, he said that this is neurodermatitis, also known as chronic simple lichen, which is a chronic disease characterized by skin itching and lichen, and has a certain relationship with factors such as mental stress and anxiety.

He prescribed me mormetasone furoate cream and triamcin acetonide neomycin paste, as well as some anti-itch drugs, and told me: after going back, try to use sensitive skin care products, stay up less late, exercise more to decompress, keep a happy mood, and don't put too much pressure on yourself.

"There is no cure for this disease, and if you stay up late under pressure, it is easy to recur." The doctor emphasized.

I quickly took the medicine and left work as early as possible in the evening to relieve stress through exercise. The effect is really obvious. First of all, it is not so itchy, and it will soon fall asleep, and secondly, the eyelids and neck are "mossy", and the case of desquamation is less, and it begins to "molt", and the thick skin gradually softens a lot. After a while, the "moss" subsides, and the skin feels the same as when it is healthy.

The reddish pigment deposit is the imprint of my life

After this incident, I learned the complexity of medical diseases, and it turns out that there are so many types of dermatitis alone. Although the skin is as healthy as ever, it may be that I dragged on for a long time, and the corners of the eyes still left a mark: a little reddish pigment deposition did not subside, and the naked eye could still see clearly.

For a while I was very concerned about this, thinking that it was very obvious on the face, but now I am relieved: just take it as a special mark.

Everyone can have health problems big and small. Some diseases, especially chronic diseases, may accompany us for the rest of our lives. The most important thing is to be active in therapy, and to maintain a good attitude and accept yourself.

Wounds, scars, are part of my body, not something I have to hide. Like crow's feet and melasma, it is a testimony to my experience of life and makes me look more human.

"Neurodermatitis", known as chronic simple lichen, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with neurodepressive skin diseases, often manifested as locally thickened, pigmented lichenoid plaques. Its formation is associated with pruritus, which is usually intermittent and more pronounced at quiet times (e.g., at bedtime or at night) [1]. Repeated scratching and rubbing under the itch will continue to irritate the skin, worsening the condition, the range of lesions is getting larger and larger, and eventually falling into a vicious circle of "itching and scratching more itchy and scratching".

It is more common in women in patients with neurodermatitis, with the highest prevalence in people aged 30 to 50 years. However, the cause of neurodermatitis is not fully understood, and it is often related to insect bites, Sjogren's syndrome, and it is also secondary to skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and herpes simplex. At present, it is generally believed that neurodermatitis is related to the dysfunction of excitatory inhibition in the cerebral cortex, and it is easy to develop under greater emotional stress and bad living habits such as sleeping late and staying up late [2].

As for the author's cause, the pharmacist believes that it may be related to mites, which is obviously wrong. This also reflects the complexity of medicine from one side, pharmacists know more about drugs, and the diagnostic opinions on diseases are for reference only. There is a specialty in the art industry, so if you have any disease, you have to go to what department to go to the doctor, and taking shortcuts will sometimes be wrong.

In addition, most of the counter salesmen do not have background knowledge of medicine and pharmacy, and do not know much about drugs. If you don't know what medicine you need to buy, it's best not to blindly follow the recommendations. Especially for products that are known as herbal medicines and ancestral secret recipes, we must be more vigilant. Because most of these products are hanging sheep's heads to sell dog meat, not only do not belong to drugs, but also may illegally add strong hormones, improper use may hurt the skin, and even cause "hormone-dependent dermatitis".

When the skin is itchy, a moderate decrease in temperature and local moisturizing can help relieve symptoms. So when the doctor gave cold spray, the author felt that the symptoms had eased. Most people do not have cold spray equipment in their homes, you can put a wet towel in the refrigerator to cool down, and then apply cold compresses, which can also achieve a similar effect.

However, for the eyelid area, it is best to use hormone-free drugs, such as "tacrolimus ointment" or "pimecrolimus cream". Although hormone-containing topical medications can be safely used in other parts of the body, it is best to avoid use in the eyelid area.

At the end of the article, the author said that he was satisfied with the curative effect, and that he was psychologically relieved of the pale red spots left behind, and his open-minded attitude was worth learning. But professionally, these erythemas can be treated with a beauty laser, and the effect is not bad, so that the skin in the area is close to normal skin tone. Therefore, the author can go to the dermatology department or plastic surgery department of the larger local hospital to try to remove this "brand" as soon as possible.
