Current WBC/IBF double champion Errol Spencer Jr. said he thinks the match against the current WBA super boxer Ugas is "easier" and that his match against WBO sub-welterweight champion Terrance Crawford is what he dreamed of because it would have won four gold belts.
Crawford, the 27-game winner, said he wants to explore the possibility of competing with WBO Chen middleweight Crawford for the undisputed quadruple title after handling the game with WBA 147-pound champion Ugas next month.
Once Spencer wins the WBA title, the only remaining champion is the WBO title that Crawford owns, and he hopes that the next game is likely to take place.
That being said, Crawford still needs to be rational when negotiating, as Spencer has other options with Thurman and his IBF forced challenger Ennis that he can choose again.
"I think it's a lot easier to do." Obviously, I'm fighting for my third belt. Hopefully we can find something on the table where we can fight for the fourth belt," said Errol Spencer Jr.
Spencer wanted to play Crawford, but it might not be feasible due to the need for a wallet between the two boxers. Only Spencer and Crawford making more than $10 million is good for the fight, which may not be possible unless a Middle Eastern country comes forward and is willing to come up with an appearance fee to achieve that goal.
