On March 22, Maserati's new mid-size SUV, the Grecale, was officially launched. The new car is based on the Giorgio platform and will be available in gt, Modena and Trofeo versions for consumers to choose from. It is reported that Grecale will officially announce the price at the Beijing Auto Show, and its pure electric version of Grecale Folgore will be released a year later.
Maserati Grecale still continues the family design style, but compared to the "big brother" Levante, the overall shape of the new car is more rounded, less murderous, more approachable in it. The GT and Modena versions are largely identical in design, with the classic Trident logo in the middle of the front grille and irregularly shaped polygonal air intakes on the left and right sides of the front bumper. The Trofeo version is more aggressive, the front bumper air intake is more exaggerated, and the carbon fiber material also makes the front face of the vehicle look more sporty.
In terms of body size, the Maserati Grecale Trofeo has a length, width× height of 4847×1979× 1667mm and a wheelbase of 2901mm. The front fenders still retain Maserati's signature three-hole design, while the side shape of the vehicle is very low, looking quite Coupe style. The C-pillar of the body is also equipped with a trident logo to better highlight their identity.
The rear design is relatively simple, and the taillights are shaped in a boomerang shape, which is inspired by the Maserati 3200GT designed by Giorgiaro, which has a good recognition after lighting up at night. It is worth mentioning that the Maserati Grecale adopts a new exhaust design, of which the Trofeo version adopts a bilateral four-way exhaust form, and the carbon fiber material used in the tail diffuser also echoes the front end of the car.
Inside, the Maserati Grecale adopts a new interior design style, and the symmetrical layout looks quite neat. Specifically, the Grecale GT and Modena are both equipped with a 2.0T engine + 48V light hybrid system, matching an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Trofeo is powered by a redesigned Nettuno Poseidon 3.0T V6 twin-supercharged engine with closed-cylinder technology, with a maximum power of 390 kW and a maximum torque of 620 N·m, matching an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The new car has an acceleration time of 3.8 seconds per 100 km/h, with 6 levels of adjustable air suspension as standard, and depending on the driving mode, the user can choose COMFORT Comfort Mode, GT Mode, SPORT Sport Mode, Corsa Track Mode and OFF-ROAD Off-Road Mode.
