One-third of the new cases in the United States are the Aomi Kejungya variant
According to another case report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, while COVID-19 cases continued to decline nationwide, the average daily number of new cases in New York City increased by about 33 percent from the previous week to 924 in the week ended March 19.
This shift is in line with the trend of the outbreak in the UK. New confirmed cases in the UK began to rise in late February, and around the same time the number of BA.2 infections rose to more than half of the total number of new confirmed cases in the UK.
