On March 21, SAIC Roewe released the official picture of its compact SUV, the third-generation Roewe RX5, and the new car will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, and is expected to be launched in the second quarter.
Compared to the Roewe RX5 we are familiar with, the third-generation model in front of us has brought a huge upgrade like a makeover. The first and most eye-catching thing is the huge intake grille, which is embellished with chrome dot-like phoenix feather elements, which is very different from the Ronglin pattern design of the current model.
Above the grille, there are also through LED strips connecting the light clusters on both sides. In addition to the main light source, there are also quite fantastic dot matrix lights under the headlights, which are visually unique. In terms of details, the Roewe brand LOGO has been moved from the middle net to the front of the cabin cover, making the grille more visually complete and the impact stronger.
Compared with the front face, the side shape of the new car is relatively peaceful, and the waist line is simple and does not lose the sense of strength. In terms of size, the third-generation Roewe RX5 has a length, width× 1890×1655 (1664) mm and a wheelbase of 2765 mm, respectively.
The rear of the new car adopts a through-type taillight group, and the internal structure is more complex, and the recognition will be good. In addition, the two-stage spoiler above the rear and the diffuser design below also emphasize the sporty atmosphere of the new car.
In terms of power, the third-generation Roewe RX5 will be equipped with a 1.5T engine code-named 15FDE produced by SAIC Motor, with a maximum power of 188 horsepower (138 kW), and the transmission is matched with a 7-speed wet dual clutch.
