All motor vehicles that are registered on the road are subject to inspection
According to Article 13 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, motor vehicles that are registered on the road shall be subject to regular safety technical inspections in accordance with the provisions of laws and administrative regulations, according to different circumstances such as the use of the vehicle, the number of passengers and goods carried, and the service life.
According to the relevant provisions of the Provisions on the Registration of Motor Vehicles (Decree No. 124 of the Ministry of Public Security), the owner of a motor vehicle shall go to a motor vehicle safety technical inspection agency to conduct a safety technical inspection of the motor vehicle, and apply for registration after obtaining a certificate of passing the motor vehicle safety technical inspection.
Different models have different inspection standards
Passenger cars operated within 5 years of annual inspection; more than 5 years, every 6 months; trucks and large, medium-sized non-operating passenger cars within 10 years of inspection once a year; more than 10 years, every 6 months; 2020 tube release service initiatives: small, micro non-operating passenger cars within 10 years of inspection every 2 years; more than 10 years, 1 inspection per year; more than 15 years, every 6 months; motorcycles within 4 years; more than 4 years, Inspections are carried out once a year; tractors and other motor vehicles are inspected once a year.
Where an operating motor vehicle passes the safety technical inspection within the prescribed inspection period, the safety technical inspection shall not be repeated.
The annual review can be carried out 3 months in advance
Vehicle inspection does not have to be carried out at the time of card, and the owners can handle it 3 months in advance.
According to Article 49 of the Provisions on the Registration of Motor Vehicles (Decree No. 124 of the Ministry of Public Security), the owner of a motor vehicle may apply to the vehicle management office of the place of registration for an inspection of the pass mark within three months before the expiration of the validity period of the motor vehicle inspection.
Vehicles that are overdue for inspection on the road are deducted 3 points
According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses" and "Regulations on The Registration of Motor Vehicles" and other legal provisions, motor vehicles that do not carry out safety technical inspections in accordance with the prescribed time limit and drive on the road will be fined 200 yuan and deducted 3 points.
According to the relevant provisions of the "Provisions on Compulsory Scrapping Standards for Motor Vehicles", vehicles will be forcibly scrapped if they are not inspected annually within 3 consecutive motor vehicle inspection cycles.
Which cars are exempt from inspection for six years
Non-operating small and micro passenger cars with less than 9 seats.
Newly licensed small private new energy buses are exempted from going online for six years, but they still need to apply for the annual inspection mark on time (once every six years and two years), and then once a year. The annual inspection of new energy vehicles is also basically consistent with the annual inspection of ordinary vehicles.
The following vehicles cannot enjoy six years of exemption from inspection: vans, vehicles that have been illegally modified and punished according to law, vehicles that have had traffic accidents that cause casualties, vehicles that have not gone through registration procedures for more than 4 years from the date of leaving the factory, and will still be inspected every two years according to the original regulations within 6 years.
