On March 12, BYD's 2022 Song MAX DM-i model was officially launched. A total of five models were launched, priced at CNY 145,800 to CNY 172,800. The new car will be available in six- and seven-seater seat layouts, with a unique "upgrade roof" added to the high-end model. At the same time, the new car is equipped with a DM-i plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, and is available in two versions with a pure electric range of 51 km and 105 km.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the BYD family-style exterior design language, the large-size polygonal grille is decorated by a number of horizontal chrome trim strips, and the Song character LOGO on a blue background is suspended in the upper center, with sharp headlights on both sides, with a strong aura. In addition, the bumper of the new car is decorated with C-shaped gloss black trim strips on both sides, and the overall sense of refinement is very prominent.
The new car has a length, width and height of 4710/1810/1690 (1880) mm and a wheelbase of 2785 mm. Although the new car is positioned as a compact MPV model, its side lines are very smooth, coupled with the suspension roof design, the fashion sense shown by the family users is very acceptable. In addition, the new car offers models with upgraded roofs, and it adds accessories similar to the roof storage box in the roof position, making the overall effect more outdoor style. In the rear part of the car, the taillights on both sides of the new car use a through-reading strip link in the center, although there are no overly complex design elements, but also show a certain sense of layering.
Interiorally, the new car is equipped with a full LCD instrument and a large rotatable central control screen, and provides light brown trim with wavy patterns. At the same time, the seats of the new car also adopt a gradient color scheme of white, light brown and dark brown, which further creates an overall sense of premium. In terms of seats, the new car will be available in six-seat and seven-seater two-seater models.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor, in which the maximum power of the engine is 81 kW and the peak torque is 135 Nm. At the same time, the new car provides pure electric endurance of 51 km and 105 km version of the model, of which the 51 km version of the model officially gave 100 km fuel consumption of 4.4L, and the 105 km endurance version of the 100 km fuel consumption of 4.5L.
