Nothingness is not a reason for a negative life: a sharing session on Nietzsche's Four Books

Time: March 11 (Friday) 19:00-21:00

Venue: Bilibili Lujiazui Book Club

Speaker: Sun Zhouxing (Chair Professor, Zhejiang University)

The question of nihilism/nihilism is the central proposition of Nietzsche's philosophy. Man will die once and end up in nothingness, so how can we bear life? If there is more suffering and less happiness in life, and daily actions are constantly repetitive and boring, what is the meaning of life? Contrary to the usual understanding and feelings about nihilism, Nietzsche proposed a philosophy of life characterized by "positive nihilism". From Nietzsche's philosophy, we can deduce a commendable and contemporary attitude to life: nothingness is the truth of life, but it is not a reason for negative life, but the opposite. On the evening of March 11, Sun Zhouxing, Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, Jiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, and member of the Disciplinary Review Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, will visit the Lujiazui Book Club to tell readers about Nietzsche's philosophy of life.

Nikolai Kussa's Energy- Modern Transformation of Thought and Material Theory

Venue: Tencent Conference (ID: 439618606), Bilibili Renaissance and Modern Philosophy

Speaker: Li Hua (Associate Professor, Center for Religious Studies, Shaanxi Normal University)

This lecture focuses on nikolai Kusa's book "Three-Person Talk on Energy-Presence" and sorts out the ancient and modern changes in the quality problem. In the history of ideas, Aristotle distinguished between three levels of "possibility" and established the ontological status of "potential-realization", thus laying the basic pattern of Westerners' view of the material problem. Kussa's idea of "energy-being," based on a transformation of Aristotle's doctrine of potential-realization, gives an existential basis for God's existence in all things and a creative understanding of the "first mass" through mutual interpretation of the Trinity structure of The Christian God. In this context, Bruno, in inheriting Cussa's "energy-in" doctrine, removed the transcendent dimension of the latter and developed a more radical set of inner ideas, which, while leading modern philosophy to the pursuit of intrinsic truth, also shows that modern philosophy has lost its concern for the source of the fundamental order of the world.
