Slippery Academy | Sun Huichang: Childhood Memories - Kerosene Lamp

The world is changing with each passing day, and many old things have gradually faded out of my sight and application, and their figures are becoming more and more blurred in my heart. To this day, I suddenly remember that they are like old friends who have been separated for a long time, and they have clearly emerged in my memory. As a result, the past of the seventies also touched me affectionately, and my eyes were once again damp in the memories of these old objects.

In the 1970s, less than ten kilometers away from the north bank of the Yellow River, this plain village, Qianfanji, kerosene lamps were an indispensable object. In this era of extreme material scarcity, electric lights have not yet entered the countryside.

At night, the village is dark, at this time, every household gradually draws a foreign fire (dialect: matches) to light up the kerosene lamp, and in each dim halo, there are often women with shoes, laborers who smoke dry cigarettes, naughty children and old people who are silent. There are no drama boxes (dialect: radio), and there is no television set, and the voices of the villagers will be heard far away in the dark night. My honest big yellow dog suddenly barked, and with the "creak" of the gate, it was not likely, the neighbor's second brother came to the door of the north house with a kerosene lamp, stood in the dim halo and said: "Grandma, there is no foreign fire in my family, my mother called me to come to the lamp." Grandma then said, "You face it first, and the road is illuminated." I'll give you another box of foreign fires, and if they blow out on the road, I'll light them again when I get home." The second brother said happily, "Okay, Grandma is so nice!" I'll pay you back tomorrow when I buy it."

Kerosene lamps are lamps that use kerosene as fuel. The kerosene lamp in memory is quite simple, and each family is similar, but in an empty bottle, filled with diesel, and at the mouth of the bottle is inserted a thin iron pipe with round iron pieces bought at the market, and the pipe is sewn with a combination of cotton twists. The bottle must be smaller than the diameter of the round iron sheet, otherwise the lamp head will leak into the bottle containing diesel. The lamp twisted and sucked on kerosene, lit with matches, and the flame of the lamp swayed like a bean, hazy and yellow. Most of them twist a thin wire at the mouth of the kerosene lamp bottle, smash an iron nail on the earthen wall, which can be lifted and hung, and the wall of the lamp is smoked by kerosene. "One date, three rooms can't fit", this riddle does not need me to say the answer, you must have known it.

I have five such kerosene lamps in my house, three hanging on the walls of three bedrooms, one on the kitchen stove wall, and one on a mountain table behind the eight immortal tables. Kerosene lamps are open flames and afraid of wind blowing. Over the days, the place where the lights on the walls were hung had been blackened. Grandma couldn't do needlework at night and spin cotton.

What I remember is that in the long night of the cold winter moon, I often wake up in the middle of the night, and still see my grandmother still sitting on the futon at the door of the house (dialect: the open space in the house) and shaking the spinning wheel, the kerosene lamp swaying and flickering in the dark night, the lamp twisting out a long flower, red, is beautiful, and the shadow of my grandmother is shaking in the flickering light shadow, this scene I will never forget for a lifetime.

Later, a cover lamp was added to the living room, this kerosene lamp is more advanced, it has a base, a thin glass lampshade, and can also be twisted by hand to adjust the size of the fire. Not afraid of the wind, the flame is much brighter than the ordinary kerosene lamp, it is considered to be the noble of the kerosene lamp. The shape of the cover lamp is very good-looking, its glass lamp holder is round, the glass lamp body is S-shaped, the lampshade is the middle belly, the lower one is slightly thicker than the upper one..., in short, with crystal clear, curvy to describe it, it is not exaggerated at all, it is definitely a rich and handsome kerosene lamp, white and rich.

Because the lamp twist of the shade lamp is very wide and flat, it is specially oiled, so it is only put on the table, and it is only worked for half an hour at dinner every day; usually it is only allowed to shine at night or during the New Year's Festival.

When I was in the third grade, I had a night school, and each of the students in the class had a self-made kerosene lamp. Dig a round hole in the pen water bottle cap with a knife, find the broken inner tube of the bicycle or ground row car, take the valve nozzle off, unscrew the valve hoop and the tight wire, use the light rod valve nozzle to insert it from under the holeed pen water bottle cap, so that the bottom round block of the valve nozzle is stuck on the inside of the bottle cap, and then use the tight wire to screw down from the valve nozzle that extends out of the lid, tighten the bottle cap in the middle, and then put a cotton thread in the valve nozzle, show a little bit, then screw the valve hoop, pour kerosene into the bottle, screw on the homemade lamp head, haha, After a while, the lamp twist sucked the kerosene up, and a beautiful little kerosene lamp was made.

More than thirty students in a class, more than thirty small kerosene lamps, two classes down, the classroom smoke! The most ridiculous thing was that the next morning, everyone blew black nose outwards.

Some students use the paper on the grass to roll up a long cover, dig a round hole in the long cover, cover it on the kerosene lamp, and illuminate it from the round hole outward, imitating the lampshade on the cover lamp. After a while, the paper lampshade went black, and then the "sudden" caught fire, almost causing the textbook and the girl in the front desk to have a long fever.... When the teacher found out, he angrily criticized: "This is the night school to study, it is like eating dry food, rotten pickles." Purely to stay old."

Today, what chandeliers, ceiling lights, downlights, floor lamps, spotlights, neon lights, voice-activated lights, etc., a wide variety, complete functions, novel styles, exquisite materials, both bright, beautiful and luxurious. Kerosene lamps have long been antiques, but only people who have lived under the smoke and flames of kerosene lamps will understand how beautiful the world is now.

Humble Zejing,

Fine is humble. /

The one who is humbled has gone to death because of the humility,

/

The sperm has come to an end because of the sperm.

Life is different,

Death and death are connected.

Alive, once red-faced for a chicken feather,

You can sacrifice your life for a girl;

Dead, not proud of the city full of thousands of beautiful women,

Not frustrated...
