After the patient was discharged from the hospital, the nurse received a "thank you letter"

The benefits of breastfeeding are well known, and it is no exaggeration to describe breast milk as YYDS (God Forever). However, lactation is rarely smooth sailing, and there are always various breast problems, and mastitis is particularly common.

On this day, Huang Minyu, a groggy nurse who had just left the night shift, opened WeChat, and the sudden surprise made her sleepy. It turned out that she had received a "thank-you note" from a patient who had been cared for in mastitis who had been discharged from the hospital.

After the patient was discharged from the hospital, the nurse received a "thank you letter"

On February 9 this year, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Second People's Hospital of Hunan Province (Hunan Provincial Brain Hospital) received a fever patient Xiaoying (pseudonym) who was 20 days after childbirth, and after excluding the new crown pneumonia and influenza according to the medical history, Dr. He Yahui found that Xiaoying's right breast was reddened in the direction of 1 to 2 o'clock, tenderness, and an induration of 4×3×2 cm in size, blood test for white blood cells 10.61 × 10 of the ninth power / L, double breast B ultrasound showed changes in lactation, diagnosis: acute mastitis, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic treatment.

Dr. He Yahui instructed the patient that the treatment of mastitis should focus on emptying the milk. With the help of breastfeeding instructor Huang Minyu, Xiaoying mastered the correct way to use the hand milking and breast pump, and it was not long before the indulum formed by the baby's sucking was finally eliminated.

Teacher Huang Minyu introduced that acute mastitis is caused by many factors:

Milk has not been removed for a long time

Nipple damage bacterial retrograde infection

Blockage of the orifice of the mammary gland

External force hits the breast (such as the baby kicks it) and so on

If you do not pay attention to it at that time, you cannot remove the milk in time, which will lead to the appearance of skin redness and swelling, elevated skin temperature, pain and other acute mastitis in the breast, and the onset is generally unilateral breast; if it is still not treated, purulent mastitis will be formed, which requires puncture or surgical treatment.

After the patient was discharged from the hospital, the nurse received a "thank you letter"

But when mastitis occurs, the antibodies in the milk will protect the baby from infection, so don't worry about whether you can breastfeed if you have mastitis!

It is recommended that during lactation, if one of the symptoms such as breast pain, redness and swelling, and skin temperature increases, the baby should be allowed to suck and increase the frequency of sucking in time to effectively remove milk; consult professional breastfeeding guidance to avoid violent "prolactination"; in addition, if fever occurs, you should seek medical treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease.
