MSI launched a flagship, lightweight and wireless gaming mouse last year, the GM41 WIRELESS. It has been used for a long time, let's briefly share the experience.

At present, this wireless version is equipped with a GM41 dedicated charging base as standard, and is not split and sold separately. Using a cylinder shape with an inclined angle, the bottom of the mouse fuselage is a circular slot, the diameter is relatively large, after familiarity, you can easily put on the base to charge, with a slight magnetic fixation. In addition to charging, the base also has a USB interface, which can be inserted into the receiver and placed on the desktop, shortening the transmission distance with the mouse, which is conducive to stability. The fly in the ointment is that the base and the mouse body are still using the Micro USB interface. Moreover, the original is a braided cable, the texture is hard, mainly can only be used as a charging cable.

The MSI GM41 body adopts a symmetrical design, a waist in the middle, a slender, flat shape, and a body size of about 130mm long, 67mm wide and 38.3mm high. The measured net weight is about 74.9g, which belongs to the non-porous lightweight. The long fuselage with low lying and large curvature waist is recommended for medium and large hand grips. It has a split long button cover, 5 key layout, and DPI buttons are set separately at the bottom. There are large areas of anti-slip rubber on both sides of the mouse body, with a slight bump texture, anti-slip and feel are good. Similarly, there is a similar non-slip textured rubber on the rollers. Compared with the wired version, the chassis is changed to a three-stage foot patch combination, which is made of PTFE material, and the sensor side foot sticker is added. On the other hand, the mouse seems to have no receiver storage compartment throughout, but in fact, its storage is more unexpected, when going out to carry, it can be tucked into the interface, fixed is still quite stable, and it will not easily slip down.

Inside, it adopts a combination of thin shell, structural optimization, three-panel large skeletonized roller, and 300mAh small capacity lithium battery to achieve external non-porous lightweighting. Less commonly, the battery pack is fixed to the side key plate and then tops the upper cover, eliminating the weight of the battery holder. Also, the position is centered to avoid shifts in the center of gravity. Holding the point to lift the mouse, can be relatively smooth.

The main key of the GM41 uses the Omron 60M micro switch, the force is moderate, the trigger is crisp and not stuffy. The side keys are ring nuo blue dot micro-movements, the button cover is thin and long, and the position layout front and rear side key operation is no problem, all very easy. Come to the roller part, for the prototype on hand, the feel performance is a bit dragging, the rolling scale is relatively loose, and the roller itself also has some shaking margin. In terms of engine, the mainstream PAW3370 optical sensor is used, and the height of the silence is adjustable, with a default minimum of about 1mm and a maximum of 2mm. In addition to high performance, the 3370 also has low power consumption characteristics, so matching a small capacity lithium battery, the theoretical endurance also has 80 hours (turn off the lights), the measured on-light endurance (1000Hz + open Motion Sync when playing) about 4-5 days a rush (a relatively good level). In addition, the support of Motion Sync function, can improve the tracking performance, smoother, less discrete before and after comparison, it should be noted that after playing this function, the power consumption will increase.

The driver section, which supports access to MSI Center, can be enabled in wireless mode. By default, there are three sets of onboards, but the mouse body does not configure the switch button, and even in the action bar, there is no function of configuring the switch, which means that the switching configuration operation must be completed by the driver, so that the multi-group onboard is not much meaningful (the on-board purpose is to break away from the drive switching profile). In addition, preset 5 DPI stops can be customized in 100 DPI steps, but the preset DPI level cannot be increased or deleted. So if you only use 2 sets of DPI, (via the default DPI button) you can only cycle back. After using it, I feel that the current driver version of the driver has a lot of room for improvement in terms of function (such as the small number of customizable buttons, no configuration of toggle buttons and functions), or the interaction level.

The overall configuration of GM41 is online, and its performance, endurance, and grip experience are excellent, and the most important thing that needs to be improved is undoubtedly the drive.
