Handmade by Japanese sword artist Akiichi Hashimoto, it is unique. Born in Hiroshima in 1982, Hashimoto studied design and plastic arts at Hiroshima City University and received a bachelor's degree. Since graduation, he has been studying in the field of metal art and has mastered a variety of metal forging techniques, including Damascus forging, complex metal welding and so on. Hashimoto has won many honorary awards in the field of Japanese art, and his works are always refreshing, Hashimoto loves to use discarded parts to make new works of art, proper personalized environmental protection art.
This maverick artwork is 34.5 centimeters long, 12 centimeters long with a blade length, weighs 121 grams naked, and is 38 centimeters high when displayed on a metal stand.
The whole work is made of three sandwich steels, the core material of the blade is Japanese blue paper No. 2 steel, the outer Damascus is made of discarded iron, and the blade surface has a sharp and smooth pattern, shining with cold light.
The handle of the knife was shaped into a single wing shape, and Hashimoto used ten different metal materials, including different types of carbon steel, soft iron, pure nickel, nickel silver and nickel-cobalt alloys, etc., all the metals were fused together, plus the engraving process, creating an extremely three-dimensional texture; these patterns were like wet feathers tightly wrapped around the wings, although cold but with strong vitality.
The base bracket is welded from stainless steel, hollowed out, and the sword display carries forward the beauty of loneliness to the extreme.
The whole work is appreciated from the details, just like an abstract oil painting, the artist uses steel as a pigment, and there seems to be a lot of creative information between the different textures, which is worth the viewer's repeated taste.
