Bangs haiping blessing! It was revealed that the MacBook Air will still use M1 chips in 2022

According to foreign media macrumors, recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo provided some details about the MacBook Air, another Mac product that is expected to be updated later this year.

According to Kuo, the 2022 MacBook Air will have a new form factor design and more color options. There were previous rumors that the new MacBook Air would not feature a tapered design, while Apple preferred the MacBook Pro-style look.

It is expected to be thinner and lighter, and offer color options similar to the 24-inch iMac color options, such as blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange, and purple. It is also rumored to have an off-white border and a matching off-white keyboard instead of black.

Kuo said the MacBook Air will be equipped with an M1 chip, which is at odds with any rumors we've heard so far about the machine.

Everything we've heard about the MacBook Air before suggests that the machine will use a newer M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, and there are even signs of such a chip in macOS Monterey. Still, Kuo has confirmed to MacRumors that he believes the next-generation MacBook Air will still be the M1 chip, though he hinted it could be a modified version of the existing M1.

As expected, the MacBook Air won't come with a mini LED display, which Apple has reserved for its high-end MacBook Pro model.

Kuo said we can expect the MacBook Air to start mass production at the end of the second quarter of 2022 or the third quarter of this year.
