The Uyuni Salt Marsh is the world's largest salt-covered wasteland, at 3,656 m (11,995 ft) above sea level, 150 km long, 130 km wide and 9,065 km² in size. Every summer (December to January of the rainy season), it is filled with rainwater to form a shallow lake, while every winter (dry season July to October) the lake dries up, leaving a salt-based mineral hard shell, up to 6 meters thick in the middle, and people can drive through the lake.
When there is water, the lake surface is like a mirror, reflecting all the scenery in the sky, clean and transparent, looking like the water and the sky, the beauty is breathtaking, so it is called "the mirror of the sky". During the dry period, the lake turns into a snow-white salt layer, which contrasts with the blue sky, and people can take all kinds of wonderful and funny photos.
