On the evening of March 4, the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games officially opened. The opening ceremony coincided with the "dragon looking up" on the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, adding an auspicious meaning to the convening of the grand event. The Ice Cube catering team also specially prepared steaming dumplings for international technologists to add a good color while experiencing the food.
In traditional Chinese culture, the dragon is believed to be the master of the weathering rain. "The dragon rises" means that the yang qi is born and everything is full of vitality. Since ancient times, people have used the dragon's head as a day to pray for smooth wind and rain and auspicious transit. Dumplings have always been a favorite Chinese specialty of foreign guests, because dumplings resemble ears, and the dragon looks up to eat dumplings on this day and calls them "eating dragon ears".
In order to let the international technologists feel the Chinese culture outside of work, the Ice Cube catering team specially prepared steaming vegetable and egg stuffed dumplings in the technical officers' lounge, as well as a bilingual cultural station card to promote Chinese food customs.
