Upon investigation, this claim was found to be untrue. According to the Ukrainian media outlet 24TV, the video footage is a live performance clip of the Ukrainian variety show "Laughter Alliance", and the man in the video is a comedian named Vasily Gumenyuk.

Gumenuk, like Zelenskiy, switched from comedian to politics. In the 2019 presidential election, Gumenuk actively supported Zelenskiy, even representing Zelenskiy's Servant of the People's Party in the 192nd constituency. In February 2020, Zelenskiy appointed Gummenuk as head of the administrative authority of a region of Ukraine.
