He emancipated his mind and made many pioneering contributions to the prosperity of Guangdong's publishing industry: such as initiating and participating in the establishment of the New Century Publishing House and the Guangdong Education Publishing House, and participating in the establishment of periodicals such as "Flower City", "Hope", "Hong Kong Style", "Translation of the Sea", "Friends of Middle School Students" and so on.
Cen Sang was awarded the title of editor in 1987; since 1992, he has enjoyed the special allowance awarded by the State Council to experts with outstanding contributions; in 1998 he was awarded the "Bole Award" by the China Publishers Association; and in 2006, he was awarded the "Taofen Award". In 2005, the Guangdong Provincial Press and Publication Bureau awarded the honorary title of "Famous Publisher of Southern Guangdong".
Mr. Shumsang began publishing in 1942. In addition to his editorial work, he has been engaged in amateur literary creation for a long time, active in the literary world for decades, becoming a member of the Chinese Writers Association in 1962 and the vice chairman of the Guangdong Writers Association in 1985.
He has published more than 30 kinds of personal literary works, and some prose works have been collected into the national primary and secondary school Language textbooks, and he has continued to work until he is old. Cen Sang's essay collection "When You Are Still a Flower" has been reprinted 12 times, with a total of more than 500,000 copies.
