Quanzhou, February 26 (Wu Guanbiao) Ice hockey, curling, cross-country skiing, figure skating... The wonderful events of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are still unfinished, and they also make Quanzhou primary school student Gong Zeqi's "ice and snow dream" even more hot. "Especially cross-country skiing, their movements are very difficult, I hope I can learn so many difficult moves in the future!"

Since the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, China's ice and snow sports have continued to develop and are becoming a new trend of public life in the new era. After the end of the Winter Olympics, the "ice and snow fever" of many schools in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, did not decrease but increased, and the children built the "ice and snow dream" in their own way.

"Quanzhou is located on the southeast coast of Fujian Province, and there is no snow or ice to slide all year round, so the innate conditions are missing." Sun Jianli, principal of the Luojiang Campus of Quanzhou Experimental Primary School, said that the Beijing Winter Olympics provide a good opportunity for teenagers in the south to promote and popularize ice and snow sports.

Based on local realities, some schools in Quanzhou have combined ice and snow roller skating with school curriculum to carry out the experimental reform of "rotating ice", and the first children's roller skating team in Fujian Province was born in the Luojiang Campus of Quanzhou Experimental Primary School.

Tang Peifeng, head coach of the roller skating team, introduced that the current team has more than 100 team members, and is divided into 4 echelons according to age, and each echelon will make appropriate adjustments in terms of training intensity and other aspects according to their respective learning conditions and physical and technical conditions, and will also select outstanding players to actively participate in national competitions.

"I love this cool sport, enjoy the tacit cooperation with my teammates, and relax the pressure of studying and strengthen my body." Zhuang Yuze, a member of the roller skating team, said that he once participated in the third national school ice and snow sports competition, and although "rotating ice" was not adaptable at first, he could enjoy it after becoming familiar with it.

In addition to the Luojiang Campus of Quanzhou Experimental Primary School, in the campuses of Dongxing Experimental Primary School in Fengze District, Quanzhou City, and Dehua County East Experimental Primary School, you can also see a silhouette of sliding snow poles, and various ice and snow projects have taken root in the campus and become school-based courses and special courses.

In recent years, Quanzhou has actively built ice and snow sports characteristic schools and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Olympic Education Demonstration Schools, and 14 schools have won the title of "Ice and Snow Sports Characteristic School" of the Ministry of Education, and 2 schools have won the title of "Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Olympic Education Demonstration School".

"I am very happy to see that the ice and snow project I love has broken through the limitations of time and space and gradually improved in Quanzhou." Tang Peifeng said that he hopes to have more support to continue to expand this situation and make the popularity of ice and snow projects higher. (End)
