SHANGHAI, Feb. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Timken Corporation (NYSE: TKR;) has awarded scholarships to 20 students to pursue their future career aspirations, from medicine and engineering to economics and computer science. At the awards ceremony, the company awarded university scholarships to the children of Timken employees from the United States, Australia, China, France, India and Romania. Among them, Chinese student Cui Jeho received a one-time scholarship of $10,000. Since the scholarship program was established in 1958, the Timken Foundation for Philanthropy and Education has awarded nearly $26 million in scholarships to 795 students worldwide.

She is the daughter of Joshua Hertel, Environmental Health and Safety Manager, Timken's Belt Business Unit, and his wife Anna Hertel. She received the Henry Timken Scholarship for $25,000 per year, renewable for three years. Reese is currently enrolled at Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri, where she plans to study biology at Evangel University.
With her family having experience recovering from a sports injury, Reese hopes to pursue a degree in biology and physical therapy and become a physical therapist in the future. She is the captain of the school's women's soccer team and regularly participates in and leads volunteer activities such as charity fundraising, food bank fundraising and blood donation.
Sheldyn StewartShe is the daughter of grinding operator Scott Stewart and wife Kimberly Stewart. She received the Jack Timken Scholarship for $20,000 per year, renewable for three years. Sheldyn is about to graduate from Indian Valley High School in Nadenhuten, Ohio, USA, and is also attending classes at Kent State University Taskarava. She plans to travel to the University of Cincinnati to pursue a bachelor's degree in pre-med. Sheldyn also intends to join the U.S. Air Force and pursue a medical degree. After completing her studies, she hopes to travel around the world to provide medical assistance to people in need.
Along with Reese and Sheldyn, six students each received a $10,000 annual scholarship that could be renewed for three years. These students include:
- Seth Carl The son of applied engineering expert Matthew Carl and wife Elaine Carl, from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, New Hampshire, USA. Seth plans to study biomedical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
- Dylan Chambers The son of production planning analyst Ricky Chambers and wife Sandra Belisle, from Stevens High School in Claremont, New Hampshire, USA. Dylan plans to travel to Keene State College to pursue a degree in Applied Sciences in Safety and Occupational Health.
- Alex Corona Son of Matthew Corona, Roller, Cage and Industrial Related Product Manager, and wife Sara Corona, from Louisville High School in Louisville, Ohio, USA. Alex plans to travel to Youngstown State University to major in chemical engineering.
- Katherine Koester The daughter of John Koester, global rail quality manager, and his wife, Mary Koester, from Alcoa, Tennessee, USA, has been teaching herself at home since childhood. Katherine plans to travel to the University of Tennessee to study mechanical engineering.
- Carson Reed The son of Senior Environmental Health and Safety Commissioner Ryan Reed and wife Lauri Reed, from Jackson High School in JacksonTown, Ohio, USA. He plans to travel to Ohio State University to pursue a pediatric medical degree.
- Hannah Stasiowski The daughter of Network Marketing Manager Eric Stasiowski and wife Donna Stasiowski, from Highland High School in Medina, Ohio, USA. Hannah plans to travel to Ohio State University to major in exercise science.
The following 12 winners received a one-time scholarship of $10,000:
- Cui Shuhao The son of statistician Li Ping and husband Cui Endong, he is from Shandong University of Finance and Economics in Jinan, Shandong Province, China. He currently majors in data science and big data technology.
- David Gregory The son of European pricing manager Daniel Grigore and wife Elena Grigore, from Bartodi Bilingual High School in Colmar, France. David plans to study biomedical engineering at the University of Groningen in Groningen, the Netherlands.
- Alexandru Grigorescu , son of Mihai Grigorescu, European and Global Information Technology and Services Manager, and wife Mihaela Georgescu, from the Alessandro Ion Cuza National Academy in Projesti, Romania. Alexandru plans to travel to the University of Technology in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to study automation and computer science.
- Vithara Gunawardena Ravi Gunawardena, finance and human resources manager, and daughter of wife Chamila Thanipullige, from Mc Robertson Girls' High School in Melbourne, Australia. Vithara plans to go to Monash University to major in psychology.
- Madeline Lindow Todd Lindow, Sales Development Manager, Transmission Business Unit, Timken, and daughter of his wife, Jodi Lindow, from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, USA. She plans to enter veterinary school after completing her undergraduate degree in biology.
- Dhanush Madesh The son of project leader Madesh D and wife Chayadevi K from the RV PU Academy in Bangalore, India. Dhanush plans to travel to Madras Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India, to major in computer science.
- Aditya Maharana Son of operations mechanic Manoj Maharana and wife Manorama Maharana, from Loyola School in Janshepur, India. Aditya plans to travel to the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai in Mumbai, India, to study astrophysics and aerospace engineering.
- James Moon Sommer Moon, sales manager for the company's original equipment and renewable energy, and husband James Moon, as well as Suzanne Schemm and husband Keith Schemm's son, J. Lee of Greenville, South Carolina, are the sons of Suzanne Schemm. L. Mann High School. James is a first-year student at Warford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

- Adithi Srinivasan Srinivasan Sarangapani, General Manager of Supply Chain and Global Sourcing in India, and daughter of his wife, Lakshmipriya Srinivasan, from Corea University in Sri, India. She plans to travel to Monash University in Clayton, Australia, to study psychology and law.
