Through many in-depth on-site inspections and analysis of site environmental information, the design team first carefully investigated the specific functional needs used during the Winter Olympic Village Games, including epidemic prevention, arrival and departure, material transportation, temporary activities and other situation rehearsals, sorted out the reasonable traffic flow lines and three main blocks of operation area, commercial area and residential area, and designed and applied different color systems and design elements on this basis to ensure that the space in the Winter Olympic Village during the game is clear and the personnel life is efficient and convenient; secondly, According to the streamlined planning, the layout and primary and secondary relationship of the visual image landscape node are repeatedly deliberated, and the spatial rhythm is relaxed and appropriate, highlighting the different atmospheres of each space; then, after a large number of discussions and modifications in the space design process, the core image elements of the Winter Olympics and traditional Chinese cultural imagery such as "a thousand miles of rivers and mountains", "winter ice frolic" and "fire tree honeysuckle" and other flexible combinations are translated into modern design language, creating a "vibrant, warm, romantic and comfortable" atmosphere in the non-competition living environment of athletes.

After dozens of design modifications, the team teachers and students finally completed the design tasks of 6 residential groups, one commercial area, one operation area and two highlight landscapes in Yanqing Winter Olympic Village, and the 500 design plans of nearly 300 pages successfully passed the approval of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and the Yanqing Winter Olympics Village Mayors' Meeting.

During the Winter Olympics, the Capital Stadium complex involved a total of 18 competition units, including 12 figure skating games, 6 short track speed skating games, and about 364 training sessions.
The Capital Stadium was built in 1968 and has a history of 54 years. The function of the venue space is older, how to connect the various functional spaces through the image landscape design; the old venue has a complex shape structure and is more decent, how to carry out image landscape design... It is a difficult problem in front of the team of Professor Li Zhongyang, the person in charge of the project landscape design of capital normal university and the director of the Institute of Visual Design and Education of Capital Normal University. They went to the site many times to investigate and discuss, and finally, on the basis of not changing the overall appearance, they used the main visual image to attract the public. On the basis of determining the core graphics, the use of red and white gradient method to highlight the whole, in terms of color, red represents fierce competition, festive lively, festive atmosphere. White represents the characteristics of the Winter Olympics, the image of ice and snow, and the white elegance. Through strong visual effects, guide the public to quickly find the entrance and exit. At the same time, the design scheme is simple and generous, cost-effective and easy to produce and install.

"Within the core graphics and color specifications prescribed by the International Olympic Organizing Committee and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, we have used the core concept and visual graphics of 'Taoist Nature, Unity of Heaven and Man' with Chinese characteristics, so that the competition venues can become a window for the dissemination of Chinese culture and form a national style of the World Olympic Games and Chinese fashion."
