Author Profile

Raymond Antrobus: Famous English poet, editor and educator, winner of the Maugham Prize for Literature, the Ted Hughes Prize, and the first poet to win the Frio Prize for Literature, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to literature. He was one of the first recipients of a Master's Degree in Oral Education from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and was a poet-in-residence at the School for the Deaf and Dumb in London. He himself is a hearing impaired person, who was found to be hearing impaired by his parents at the age of six or seven, and has been wearing a hearing aid since the age of eight. Can Bears Ski? is a picture book he created based on his own experience.

Polly Dunbar: A famous British picture book writer and illustrator, graduated from the University of Brighton in 1999 with a degree in illustration, she has written and painted "Little Penguin", "Blue Dog", "Katie the Fugitive" and other works. Her best-selling picture book Little Penguin won the Silver Medal at the 2007 Nestlé Children's Book Award, the 2007 British Book Trust Children's Book Award, the 2008 Red House Award, and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Award. Her Tilly and Friends series of books and animated adaptations have taken the world by storm.
