Ci Shiping: Simmons should consider going to a psychiatrist, he has to shoot

Former NBA player Meta Waldpis recently spoke in an interview about 76ers guard Ben Simmons.

On the issue of Simmons not daring to shoot, Waldpis believes the situation is "fixable, absolutely fixed." ”

"I look at it differently," Waldpis said, "I think he's got an inner tension, you may have had tension, I've had tension every game, but you've learned to adapt to it." He had to learn to deal with tension. ”

Waldpis admitted to having been in constant communication with his psychiatrist during the 2010 playoffs because he felt he wasn't strong enough.

"The 2010 Finals grabbed seven, the whole playoffs, I was seeing a psychiatrist. Why? Because I don't think I'm strong enough. I really feel that way, but I want to win, I want to win in any way, and if that means I'm going to see a psychiatrist, I do. When it came to grabbing seven, instead of being so nervous that I didn't dare to shoot, I felt, 'We've improved some things, let's shoot.' I'm not worried. So this is a problem that can be fixed.

"At this point, I have to say he doesn't believe in himself now, it's crazy." Waldpis said.

Waldpis compared Simmons to Warriors forward Draymond Green, saying Green remained a valid player despite poor projection. He believes Simmons can be a well-rounded defensive player like Green.

"Ben had to shoot. He had to finish those rhythmic shots. Even if you throw an air balloon, you have to shoot. You have to break through any barriers you're currently experiencing on a psychological level and deal with it. Don't listen to anyone's comments. Every athlete has done this, and it's going to see a psychiatrist. Sports psychotherapy is the best thing ever. He really should seek to accept this. It's not that he's mentally ill or crazy, sports psychotherapy is normal and he really should think about it. Waldpis said.
