For many Changchun people who pay attention to the Winter Olympics, the 31-year-old Qi Guangpu jumped the "Skyrim Action" with a difficulty factor of 5.0 in the freestyle ski men's aerial skills final, and the scene of roaring with arms and roaring made them unforgettable for a long time. This is the dream moment of a "four-dynasty elder" of the Winter Olympics, and it is also the highlight moment of Changchun, the city of ice and snow sports, to achieve "ice and snow double gold".

From Zhou Yang, the "triple crown champion" of the Winter Olympics short track speed skating, to Qi Guangpu, who rushed to the top of The Genting Peak, how did Changchun become a city that included the "double gold" of the "ice" and "snow" events of the Winter Olympics? Li Xiaojie, secretary of the party group and director of the Changchun Municipal Sports Bureau, and other sports people gave the answer: it is persistence and inheritance.

Why did Jilin Changchun achieve "ice and snow double gold"?

Dreams, "take off" from here

In 2000, Qi Guangpu, who had just turned 10, came to Changchun for the first time and was full of ambition.

From practicing skills at the age of 4 to turning to trampoline at the age of 8, he gradually showed his talents. "I'm no stranger to flipping heels. As long as you learn to ski, you can quickly get started with aerial skills. Qi Guangpu recalled that when he first trained in the air, due to insufficient control, he only completed half a lap of action and plunged into the snow pile.

As early as 1992, Changchun became one of the first cities to carry out freestyle skiing aerial skills sports. This project pays attention to physical conditions and skill quality, so from Jiangsu, which has the foundation of gymnastics and skill sports, the "good seedlings" are selected to changchun training, forming a complementary advantage across the domestic ice and snow territory.

Qi Guangpu is one of them. But when he first came into contact with ice and snow sports, he was also "unsatisfied with the soil and water". "I used to go to the train station alone to buy a ticket, and I wanted to get on the train and go back to my hometown." Qi Guangpu recalled, but saw Yinggang, who was the coach of the Changchun Freestyle SkiIng Aerial Skills Team at the time, at the ticket window.

Without the expected criticism, after returning to the team, Silver Steel took him to eat dumplings and enlightened him with his teammates. This qi Guangpu touched a lot and made him more determined to go on this project.

From debuting at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010, he became the first player in the world to complete an action with a difficulty factor of 5.0. From Sochi, Pyeongchang to the Beijing Winter Olympics successfully rushed to the top of the world. "Persistence" became the only belief of Qi Guangpu and the ice and snow people behind him.

Inheritance, casting "ice and snow double gold"

When Qi Guangpu won the gold medal with a near-perfect jump in the final on the evening of February 16, at the Changchun Winter Sports Management Center, his former coaches and teammates hugged each other and cried with joy.

"This not only achieves a breakthrough of zero gold medals in snow sports for Changchun, but also a strong proof that Changchun, as a famous ice and snow city, has achieved the balanced development of ice and snow projects at the Winter Olympics." Li Xiaojie said.

Changchun, located on the world's golden latitude belt of ice and snow, is proud of the history of ice and snow sports.

In 1980, Zhao Weichang, a 30-year-old speed skater from Changchun at that time, was appointed as the flag bearer, letting the five-star red flag fly for the first time at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games; in 2022, in Beijing, the 72-year-old Zhao Weichangrong was appointed as the torchbearer, and in the eyes of everyone, he "flew" into the "Bird's Nest" of the National Stadium.

China's first person to win a Winter Olympic medal Ye Qiaobo, the first person to win a Winter Olympic figure skating medal Chen Lu, and the Winter Olympic short track speed skating "Triple Crown" Zhou Yang, all from Changchun.

How to achieve short track speed skating and freestyle skiing aerial skills in the Winter Olympics ??

Li Xiaojie concluded that the first is scientific material selection, freestyle skiing material selection focuses on gymnastics, skills, trampolines and other projects, paving the way for the development of outstanding seedlings to a high level; the second is scientific training, holding athlete material selection tests and outline assessment competitions every year, cultivating standards for national teams, and following up the international frontier; the third is to strengthen the construction of coaches and training management personnel, transport outstanding athletes to the national team, and then form a feedback through the transformation of retired players; the fourth is to strengthen the construction of venue facilities and improve hardware guarantees. Put wings on sustainability.

"And the legacy." Li Xiaojie said. As "post-00s" Li Tianma said when he saw his teammate Qi Guangpu win the championship in front of the TV, "In the future, I will also train hard, carry the banner of the team, and create better results." ”

The public, giving ice and snow "life"

In the cold winter of The Ninth Count, on the 2,400-square-meter ice rink of Pingquan Primary School in Nanguan District, Changchun City, students learned from skating coaches in full swing. Here for primary and secondary school students to open the "ice and snow custody", providing a variety of ice and snow sports courses, so that students can play in the winter vacation on campus ice and snow.

Next to the ice rink, a row of honor panels was erected, Li Jiajun, Chen Lu, Liang Wenhao, Han Tianyu... A famous Winter Olympic general who has entered the history of the school has come out of here.

Founded in 1953, Pingquan Primary School is not only a sign, but also the Changchun Short Track Speed Skating School and the Changchun Figure Skating School. While regular teaching, the school also takes into account the cultural class training of reserve professionals in Changchun Ice Sports Training Base.

Promote mass sports with competitive sports. In recent years, the relevant state departments have issued documents such as the Opinions on Vigorously Developing Ice and Snow Sports with the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics as an Opportunity, and the Ice and Snow Sports Development Plan (2016-2025), turning "cold ice and snow" into "hot sports".

The enduring vitality of ice and snow sports also comes from the participation of the public. In order to make the national fitness activities "warm up", in 2021, the Changchun Municipal Sports Bureau organized a series of activities such as "online and offline" national fitness and "Winter Olympics" Changchun Public Ice and Snow Season. In addition, it also organized public welfare training activities for youth sports in Changchun, and opened 25 projects such as athletics, football, basketball, skiing, and ice hockey, with a total of 1,812 shifts and more than 80,000 public welfare training services.

"The Beijing Winter Olympics have brought new opportunities to Changchun." Li Xiaojie said, "It will further strengthen the strength of the people, cultivate the mass base of ice and snow sports, and enhance the attractiveness and endogenous driving force of Changchun as the capital of ice and snow sports."
