AMD says the new RDNA 2 iGP delivers twice the performance of the previous Vega-based solution, and performance tests of the flagship's 12-unit computing unit (CU) Radeon 680M show that the new RDNA 2 chip can easily keep up and beat NVIDIA's entry-level GeForce MX450 mobile gaming GPU.

In synthetic benchmarks, the RDNA 2-based Radeon 680M graphics perform exceptionally well. Since synthetic 3D graphics benchmarks typically use very few CPUs, the integrated RDNA 2 GPU core is really here to beat the MX450 at 25W within the available system memory bandwidth.

Next up are some games, the Radeon 680M of the 12CU is on average a little faster than the MX450, and the RDNA 2 iGP is capable of delivering playable performance across all the games tested. Overall, it looks like an absolute generation leap forward compared to the previous generation of Ryzen 5000 chips.

In addition to these two tests, many other tests were performed, including CPU benchmarks, comparing the new Ryzen 7 6800H and Ryzen 5 6600H to Intel and previous generation AMD parts.
