AMD's strongest core display in history officially released the Ryzen 6000 series mobile processors

【CNMO News】At ces2022, AMD officially released the Ryzen 6000 series mobile processors. It adopts TSMC 6nm process, the new "Zen3+" architecture CPU, and RDNA2 architecture nuclear display. In terms of core size, it continues to maintain a maximum of 8 cores and 16 threads, in addition to L2, L3 cache and TDP compared to the previous generation.

It is understood that the new processor includes 2 low-voltage versions of the U series (15W to 28W) and 8 standard plates of the H series (35W+).

R9-6980HX and R9-6980HS the highest frequency rushed to 5GHz, AMD claimed R7-6800U multi-threaded performance increased by 130% (but AMD this 6800U is 28W, not 15W); reduce idle and high frequency power consumption, improve the battery life of mobile devices, AMD claims to reduce the power consumption of web browsing and playing video by 15%-40%.

Other CPU improvements include support for DDR5 memory (DDR5-5200 and LPDDR5-6400), support for PCIe4.0, USB4 native support (can run Thunderbolt 3) and AV1 hard solution.

In terms of actual performance, compared to the previous generation R7-5800U (15W), the R7-6800U (28W) is 1.2 to 3 times the performance of competitors in 1080p games. With AMDFidelityFX technology, it is announced that the game frame rate can be increased by another 20%-60%. In addition, the 35W standard voltage platform and AMD graphics card can use SmartShiftMax, allowing the CPU and the individual display to dynamically adjust power to improve performance.

The most surprising part is that RDNA2 is the strongest nuclear display in AMD history, with 12 sets of CUs, the frequency has also been increased from the previous generation's 2.0GHz to 2.4GHz, the cache has been doubled, the raster performance has been doubled, the rendering backend has been doubled, and ray tracing is supported.

AMD said that the new product with the mobile version of the Ryzen 6000 series processor will go on sale in February.
