Zeng Gaofei's original writing task was not to create novels, but to create film scripts. In 2021, under the planning of producer Zhang Yixi, Zeng Gaofei created the film script "Nine-tailed Fox" according to the records of the "Classic of Mountains and Seas".
However, the length of the 30,000-word film script made Zeng Gaofei feel very addicted, and he felt that the film script was very different from the novel, and he had the creative impulse to adapt it into a long novel. At the end of 2021, when Mr. Lei Bin, the editor of China Friendship Publishing House, asked for a manuscript, Zeng Gaofei communicated his ideas with Mr. Lei Bin and immediately got a response.
