On the afternoon of February 13, the brand program "Taihu Weekly Concert" of the Taihu Dance Art Center of the National Centre for the Performing Arts staged the "Romantic Afternoon Candlelight Concert". Piano 3-ensembles from the National Centre for the Performing Arts are accompanied by ballet performances to accompany the audience through the weekend.
Romance is the theme of this concert. On the stage, dozens of candle lights create a warm and romantic musical atmosphere. The selection was also ingenious, with the first movement of Brahms's Piano Trio in B major chosen for the first movement. In this regard, Fan Yue, deputy principal violinist of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra and violinist of this concert, explained to the audience, "Brahms is a representative composer of the romantic period of classical music, and this piece is placed in the first song to let the audience experience romance from a deep level and lay the main tone of the whole concert. ”
This is followed by classic melodies familiar to audiences, such as Ryuichi Sakamoto's "The Last Emperor" and "RAIN", selected excerpts from Morricone's "Once Upon a Time in America", "Cinema Paradiso", and "The Pianist at Sea". Saint-Saëns' "Swan" and Masne's "Meditations" are accompanied by ballet performances, elegant dance postures, surging melodies, and starry candlelight, spreading the romantic atmosphere to every corner of the theater.
At the end of the concert repertoire, Piazzolla's "Forgetting", "One Step Away" and "Spring" were played, extending the romantic theme to the expressive tango. "'One Step Away' is the classic music in the movie 'Smell the Woman', and I hope that everyone can be like the lieutenant colonel in the movie, although blind in both eyes, they will never lose the ability to pursue romance." Fan Yue explained on the spot.
At the end of the performance, the scene erupted into thunderous applause, and the romantic mood like snowflakes infiltrated the audience's heart. "The name of this concert is 'Candlelight Concert', and the form is very new, and I am attracted to the name. Although the repertoire of the performance is very familiar, the live listening experience is very different, and several friends who came with me like it. Zhou Heng, a citizen from Haidian District, drove for more than an hour in the snow to the Taihu Theater to listen to the concert.
"Taihu Weekly Concert" is a public welfare brand project focused on by the Taihu Dance Art Center of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, usually arranged to perform at the Taihu Theater on weekends, combining lectures and performances, and ticket prices benefiting the people.
