An industry insider told 36Kr that Via's store will be restored to online on Taobao, and will continue to work in the form of live broadcasting in the future, and the account name and fans will not change.

Although many people in the industry have heard the news of Via's comeback, there are no new changes in policy. An industry insider close to the Zhejiang tax authorities told 36Kr: "The fourth wave of punishment for anchors and institutions is still not over, and the penalties for tax evasion anchors show no signs of loosening." ”

The "Via tax evasion incident" dates back nearly two months. On December 20, 2021, according to Xinhua News Agency, the Inspection Bureau of the Hangzhou Municipal Taxation Bureau investigated and dealt with the suspected tax evasion problem of network anchor Huang Wei (net name: Wei Ya). It was found that between 2019 and 2020, network anchor Huang Wei evaded taxes of 643 million yuan and other underpaid taxes by means of concealing personal income, fictitious business conversion income and false declarations, and other underpaid taxes of 0.6 billion yuan, and made a tax administrative treatment penalty decision against Huang Wei in accordance with the law, recovering taxes, collecting late fees and imposing fines totaling 1.341 billion yuan.

In addition to the tax administrative treatment penalty, according to the China News Network, on the day of the announcement of the penalty results, Taobao APP has not been able to find the Weiya live broadcast room, in this regard, Taobao customer service said that due to violations of relevant regulations, the anchor account has been frozen, but the relevant stores have not been blocked. The suspension of Via's broadcast has had a great impact on merchants who rely on her to sell goods, especially those who have prepared a large number of goods before. At that time, 36Kr had learned from the merchants that many cooperative merchants had prepared million-level goods and customized the specifications of exclusive Via, which made them face considerable pressure to sell goods. At the same time, the industry also has a worry that after the pattern of Wei Ya and Li Jiaqi's double-head competition is broken, the only remaining "super head" anchor will gain a greater right to speak, and due to the limited time slot, many merchants are bound to be unable to get exposure opportunities from "super head".

After the punishment results were announced, Wei Ya and her husband Dong Haifeng successively issued apology statements. In addition, a screenshot of the information notification group of the Weiya Business Department was also circulated on the Internet, and Weiya's agent Wang Si (Gummer) said in a statement, "Next, please go home and rest first, and the salary will be paid during this period", which was confirmed to be true.
