Born on September 14, 1917 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, Li Jian, whose original name was Li Damin, was originally from Beijing. In 1937, as a primary school teacher, she passed the exam and entered the Film Unit of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government (the predecessor of the Chinese Film Studio). With the development of the current situation, he has successively served as an actor in Chengdu Chinese Drama Society, Chongqing National Experimental Theater Drama Group, Chongqing Zhonghua Drama Art Society, China Film Studio, and "China Electricity" Factory. After the founding of New China, he became one of the first actors of Beijing Film Studio.
According to statistics, in his decades of acting career, Li Jian has performed more than 150 film and television dramas and drama works, including more than 60 films and more than 30 TV series, even when he is more than 80 years old, he has also played roles in the movie "Summer Sentiments", the TV series "Ninety-Nine Sunny Days", "April Day on Earth", "Pearl Emerald White Jade Soup" and other works. Especially in "April Day on Earth", she played Xu Zhimo's grandmother.
In these more than 150 works, Li Jian has created more than 100 "old women" images. In 2007, Li Jian won the "Golden Phoenix Award" Special Honorary Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award issued by the China Film Performing Arts Society. However, on December 1, 2008, the famous film performance artist Li Jian died at the third hospital of Beijing Beiyi Hospital at the age of 91.
