While the steel frame snowmobile strives to "overtake", these technologies are also moving forward!

On February 11, in the men's steel frame snowmobile competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yan Wengang won the bronze medal with a total time of 4 minutes 01.77 seconds in four rounds, achieving a breakthrough of "zero" for the Winter Olympic medal in the Chinese steel frame snowmobile project. Yin Zheng, a 2017 undergraduate student at the Chinese College of Athletics and Athletics of Beijing Sport University, also performed well, finishing fifth with a total time of 4 minutes, 12 seconds and 13 seconds.

From missing the competition to the 13th place at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics to winning the medal at home, China's steel frame snowmobile project is "overtaking in curves" at a world-renowned Chinese speed. Behind the leapfrog development of the project, the increasingly optimized and upgraded scientific training method is the "acceleration key". From 2020 onwards, the comprehensive wind tunnel hall of the National Ice and Snow Sports Training and Research Base of The Second Seventh National Ice and Snow Sports of Beijing Sports University has been officially opened, allowing mainland athletes to conduct wind tunnel simulation training at their doorstep and experience the unique power brought by cutting-edge technology to ice and snow sports at zero distance.

Wind tunnels are one of the most effective technologies for aerodynamic research, and the method of introducing it to sports training has long been widely adopted by traditional ice and snow powers, and has achieved excellent results. The base comprehensive wind tunnel hall is the first sports comprehensive wind tunnel in China, which can simulate a variety of real competition scene environments, has accurate characteristics that are difficult to achieve in conventional land training, and is mainly used for training and test research such as sports posture and clothing wind resistance in steel frame snowmobile projects.

Professor Li Bo, director of the wind tunnel laboratory of Beijing Jiaotong University, has been deeply touched along the way.

Another technological support given to the steel-frame snow team by the base is the six-degree-of-freedom training system. Originally used in the aerospace field, the system can simulate the real field environment of steel frame snowmobiles, snowmobiles, bobsleighs, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and other sports through six-degree-of-freedom platform sports and synchronous video screens, helping athletes to remember the track information in advance and form muscle memory.

"Six degrees of freedom" platform display

Song Xiaodong, general manager of Beijing Dianyin Jinda Technology Co., Ltd., which was developed by the "six degrees of freedom" platform, introduced to us: "The skid project has been carried out in China for a short time, and the related scientific research is also very limited, in order to improve the fidelity of the simulation, the project team has consulted a large number of foreign relevant literature. Combined with the virtual scene of the national bobsleigh center track, explore the establishment of a mathematical model of the sled project, optimize the control measurement of the sled movement by people in multiple rounds, and provide scientific and technological assistance for the training of the national training team. ”
