For the first time, the Matoushan Nature Reserve has taken images of the yellow-bellied horned pheasant, a national key protected animal

On September 6, when the Matoushan Nature Reserve was sorting out the outdoor infrared camera data, it was found that the yellow-bellied horned pheasant, a national first-level key protected animal, was photographed for the first time. The yellow-bellied horned pheasant is a specialty and endangered pheasant in China and a national key protected wild animal. Due to the low natural reproduction rate, the upper habitat has shrunk and is included in the "Red Book of Endangered Animals in China and Birds Volume".

The data monitored by the infrared camera is conducive to the protected area to understand the species composition, living habits, population number and habitat of wild animals in the jurisdiction, and provide data support for better fulfilling the responsibility of protecting wild animals and carrying out scientific research and biodiversity monitoring in the future.
