Platinum wants to develop "bigger, riskier" titles with a greater focus on service-oriented games

Shirogane Studio CEO Inaba Atsushi recently gave an interview to Famitsu, mentioning his vision for the future and hoping to develop more "games that players can enjoy and love for a long time" and so on.

In the interview, Inaba hopes that the company will focus more on the "online service game" genre, hoping to provide "one-off" content that is different from "Angel Hunting Witch". In particular, he mentioned Hideki Kamiya's Project GG, which is still in the stage of fumbling and experimenting with various things, but Inaba seems to be suggesting that this huge hero-themed work will be operated in a way that will continue to update the content in the future.

Inaba then mentioned that Platinum Studios would definitely continue to develop "one-off, well-designed bridges, enjoy the clearance process" of single-player games, such as Angel Hunter Witch, or smaller, well-designed games such as Sol Cresta. However, given the market changes in the next five years, it is necessary for the company to adjust the development structure of future projects, and the current Platinum big version and Tokyo studio have a total of about 300 employees, and Inaba hopes to expand to a team of more than 500 people to realize his vision.

When asked how he intends to run the studio in the future, Inaba said he wanted to take more risks on larger, more unique pieces. Former CEO Kenichi Sato laid the foundation for the company, but Inaba hopes to make Platinum Studio stick to its original intention, if it can't create a new way of playing, then Platinum doesn't need to exist, it's better to disband directly, next month's online game style ARPG "Babylon Fall" is Platinum Studios' attempt at "online service game". Inaba mentioned that in the past, it was difficult for Platinum to create its own IP, and even if it could be realized, the scale was very small, and it could only be made into an indie game-level product. But in the future, Platinum needs to get out of it all, build new games on a larger scale in a purer way, and succeed on at least one project. Inaba hopes to lead Platinum in a "pure immaculate" direction and never look back, which is his current duty.
