Straight to the point, study the Tao Te Ching, the words in each chapter of the Tao Te Ching have their meanings, understand the original meaning of the Tao Te Ching, study Lao Tzu's thought, and ask questions. In the twenty-fifth chapter of the Tao Te Ching, it is said, "Therefore the way is great, the heavens are great, the earth is great, and the people are great." "What's big? It is understandable that the heavens and the earth are boundless, but why are people also great? If you don't know what is big, you can't understand the whole Tao Te Ching very well. From ancient times to the present, there are several people who can explain the word "big". I know what it means, but I don't want to say, think for yourself. (The "great people" have to do with the Tao, not with God.) )
There is also a sentence "Man's law and earth, earth law and heaven, heaven's law and tao, and the way of nature." This sentence refers to the fact that people cannot jump out of this circle of the earth, the earth cannot jump out of the circle of heaven, the sky cannot jump out of this circle, and the tao cannot jump out of the circle of nature. (Don't raise the bar with me, this is the understanding of the ancients.) Let's talk about the main point, what is "nature". "Nature" translated as "natural" is nonsense, Lao Tzu said "nature" refers to "result and reality existence", without "result and reality existence" Tao can not talk about, only things have happened and reality exists, can be reasonable, the Tao to see "result and reality existence". Lao Tzu is a materialist view of naïve philosophy.
Only by understanding the meaning of the words and phrases of the Tao Te Ching can we better understand the ideological connotation of the Tao Te Ching.
