The Hee Chau Cang Yi Library reopened

The Hee Chau Cang Yi Library reopened

In Xizhou Town, Dali City, there is a long-established library- Cangyi Library, which was an important cultural place for intellectuals to gather and communicate as early as the 1930s and 1940s. Donated by Mr. Yan Zizhen, a famous patriot in Yunnan Province, Cangyi Library is the first and only public library in the history of Xizhou Ancient Town. It was revoked in 1953 and reopened in July 2021 with a new look on its original site.

The external atmosphere of the reconstructed library is rich in history, and the internal display is full of modernity, highlighting the coordination and tacit understanding with the cultural history of Xizhou, and also adding a new landmark to the cultural ancient town of Xizhou. After the reopening of the library, the style changed to the "Bookstore +" model as the main tone of its development, in addition to providing more than 10,000 books for readers to read, it also regularly and irregularly held free movie viewing parties, poetry readings and lectures by famous artists.
