I can't buy an ice pier, what should I do? Winter Olympic volunteers from Shanghai "hand in hand" teaching out!

At the entrance of Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village, a large "sinking square" of a football field is a place that athletes from all over the world do not want to miss when they pass by. Facing the photo model, picking up a paintbrush, and creating on the smart terminal, the ice pier is "taken home" in this way. There is a "little teacher" at the scene, she is Kyoko Yamashita, a 2020 graduate student from the School of Psychology and Cognitive Science of East China Normal University, who stands here every day and draws dozens of ice piers with athletes. "Outside the winter Olympic games in ice and snow and wrapped in silver, more people can feel the enthusiasm of the Beijing Winter Olympics and the charm of Chinese culture, which I think is very glorious."

These two days, Kyoko Yamashita was so busy that her voice was dumb. Since the ice pier "fire out of the circle" on the social platform, the number of athletes who have come to the sunken square to paint has doubled. A Filipino athlete rushed to the booth yesterday (9th) afternoon and picked up a pen with great interest to create. Seeing his enthusiastic energy, Kyoko Yamashita helped him adjust the color of his brush, making suggestions from time to time: "Enlarge your eyes a little", "Adjust the thickness of the coat line"... The athletes painted for half an hour, and specially matched the ice piers with a "background" - blue mountains, green trees, gray streams. "This is the scene of the ice pier playing in my eyes." After printing his own works, he said that he would take them back to China for good preservation.

"Why do you like ice piers?" Kyoko Yamashita reaped a variety of answers. Some athletes said: Because the appearance of the humble is very cute; some people say: This is China's national treasure, very oriental characteristics; others say: this is an important "witness" who has come to the Beijing Winter Olympics. "Seeing the athletes full of joy, I feel that my service is very worthwhile." Kyoko Yamashita said.

Her mother is Chinese, her father is Japanese, and Kyoko Yamashita was born and raised in Shanghai, and is fluent in Chinese, Japanese and English. This time, she passed the selection interview and was fortunate to become a volunteer for the Beijing Winter Olympics. She wakes up at 6 a.m. every morning and returns to the hotel at 10:30 p.m. The position she serves often requires running outdoors, and she has to stomp her feet after standing for a while, but she firmly believes: "This volunteer service will definitely become a precious memory." ”

In December last year, Kyoko Yamashita traveled to Beijing to participate in training including etiquette and product introduction. Later, as a "group leader", he was involved in the development of a program for the distribution of souvenirs to athletes. In the process of revising the plan, she thought that volunteers should add some "spiritual encouragement" when serving athletes. So, the final template was set, and after the souvenir was distributed, the words of encouragement were added - "I hope you can play better on the day of the competition", and translated it into multiple languages to bless the volunteers.

As a busy but fulfilling volunteer, Kyoko Yamashita says she has only done what she can to open her eyes not only by communicating with athletes from all over the world, but also by promoting ice and snow sports with the strength of youth. "In volunteer service positions, we can also show the spirit of unity, fraternity and hard work of young people."

Two days ago, after seeing Gu Ailing win the championship with the super difficulty of the "third jump" in the final of the freestyle ski women's big jump, Kyoko Yamashita also set a small goal: after returning to Shanghai, go to learn to ski!
