Richard Lang is a representative artist of British land art, and since the 1960s Richard Lang has created very influential large-scale sculptures, paintings and printmaking works, whose artistic works are usually created by rocks, bark and all elements from nature. Inspired by everything in the surrounding natural world, Richard Long's new work Spike Island is recently on display at the Jonathan Novak Museum of Contemporary Art, in a closer frame than ever. The inspiration for "Spike Island" came from a small river named "Evan" near his hometown, showing people his close connection with his hometown, his roots, and nature through the form of art.
