Following the excavation and construction of the Dnipro Metro Line in Ukraine in 2016, Zaha Hadid Architects has begun construction of three new metro stations: Teatralna, Tsentalna and Muzeina, connecting the residential, commercial, cultural and academic institutions of the Eastern Dnipro District with the city centre and the Dnipro-Holovnyi railway station.

The new metro route extension is designed to ease traffic congestion in downtown Dnipro and to facilitate public attractions in the area, from the city centre to parks, beaches and recreational facilities on the banks of the Dnipro River. The interior is designed to facilitate circulation and guide passengers in an intuitive way, enhancing their experience to ensure the safety and comfort of the ride.

The station's design commemorates the city's rich craftsmanship, metallurgy and manufacturing traditions through welded steel entrance pavilions. These sculptural entrances consist of thin structural shells made of recycled steel from a local Dnipro foundry. Each pavilion is located in a new public plaza that becomes an easily recognizable landmark and marks the gateway to the city's metro. To further enhance the strong character of the station, the ticket halls are designed to complement each station, while the interior halls, corridors and platforms share cohesive and coherent forms and spatial logic.

It is expected that by 2025, all three stations in Dnipro will provide comprehensive services to passengers.
