The announcement said that a long video platform conveyed information through the media that there was a 30-minute cut of the movie "Chosin Lake" on Douyin, which infringed on its platform copyright and triggered a large number of media reports.

After verification, the relevant content is actually part of the cooperation between Bona Pictures, the producer of "Chosin Lake", and the official publicity of Douyin. The total length of the video is less than 6 minutes, and the material comes from the film promo and related historical materials, and the report says that there are "30-minute cut strips" that are obviously inaccurate.

Douyin said that through the short video platform to do publicity, all parties have needs, "two innovation" is a new thing, should be encouraged and supported. Long video platforms in a dominant copyright position should not beat users' creations to death under the guise of maintaining copyright.

In April 2021, Tencent Video, iQiyi, and Youku, three parent video platforms, together with more than 500 artists, issued a joint statement calling for the immediate cleanup of unauthorized short videos. Since then, long video platforms have continued to accuse short video film and television infringement.

In August 2021, Tencent Video sued Douyin for infringement of "Sweeping Black Storm" for 100 million yuan. However, Douyin said that before Tencent staff took the initiative to contact Douyin, it was necessary to communicate about the publicity of "Sweeping Black Storm" on Douyin. The episode actually has an official cooperation with Douyin.

According to public reports, from June to December 10, 2021, Tencent sued Douyin 168 times in 18 courts across the country for copyright infringement, with a total target of more than 2.943 billion yuan.
