On February 8, 2022, Asia's new Sportage (that is, the domestic Sportage model) PHEV was officially released, with a pure electric range of 32 miles (about 51 kilometers). The fifth-generation Sportage was launched in overseas markets last year, and the PHEV model released this time is basically the same as the fuel version of the model, and the new car is expected to be launched in the North American market in the third quarter of 2022.
Kia Sportage PHEV will be available in two configurations: X-Line and X-Line Prestige. Both cars have unique front and rear bumpers and are fitted with chrome trims. It is also equipped with bright black mirrors, roof frames and window trims. The 19-inch black alloy wheels will also be standard.
Kia Sportage PHEV follows the exterior design of the fuel version of the model, the front face of THE SPORTAGE has become more complex and three-dimensional, of which the Kia family's iconic tiger whistle grille has become more and more blurred, and the central net and headlights are integrated, making the visual effect of the entire front of the car very wide. The grille inner mesh adopts a honeycomb design and blackening treatment, and the headlights on both sides are also very exaggerated, of which the boomerang shape is LED daytime running lights, and the far and near lights are located on both sides of the front.
The rear shape of the car is much simpler at first, and the internal light group of the tail light is also irregularly designed, and the interior adopts a similar C-type light group layout. The lower bumper was also blackened, while a matte silver anti-wiping plate was added to the chassis. The exhaust layout, on the other hand, is concealed and in line with the positioning of its PHEV model.
The interior part also continues the design of the fuel version of the model, the most eye-catching is the dual screen design on the center console, which extends from the dashboard to the center of the center console, and the curved design is added to the display from the details. The air conditioner outlet on both sides of the double screen is also very personalized, which also breaks the traditional regular symmetrical layout and looks very different.
In terms of power, the Sportage PHEV is equipped with a 1.6T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 130 kW. It is paired with a 66.9kW motor and a 13.8 kWh lithium battery, whose battery is about two hours full of housing. It has a pure electric range of 32 miles (51 km).
