Faust is the pinnacle of German literature, with high literary value and a high reputation in the history of world literature. The current academic research on Faust is limited to the first part because of the complexity of the content involved in the second part and the difficulty of translation. The Commercial Press launched Faust (Part II), translated and annotated by Professor Gu Yu of the German Department of Peking University. This book is based on the translator's immersion in the study of Faust for more than ten years, with reference to the translation of multiple versions of the German commentary, and is a new breakthrough on the basis of the first part of Guo's translation, interpreting the vivid distillation of the value of Faust "One day, if all literature disappears from the world, people may be able to reconstruct it with this drama".
